Horror movies are an excellent way to pass the time while attempting to avoid wetting your pants. I’m easily startled, yet I still enjoy the rush. That, I suppose, is what it’s all about. 28 Weeks Later (2007)
If you enjoy zombie movies, this could be right up your alley. The plot isn’t really interesting or complex. ‘Zombies are coming, run!!!!’ is the same theme as other zombie flicks. Robert Carlyle’s character and performance in this film were both enjoyable for me. The plot is straightforward: a virus known as the Rage Virus has infected London, turning humans into zombies. However, the city has been quarantined courtesy to the US Army, and residents are now being released back into the city. It wouldn’t be interesting if everything went according to plan. It turns out that someone infected with the virus has entered the city, reigniting the nightmare.
American Psycho (2000)
Christian Bale is one of the most well-known actors in the world. He is a fantastic actor. If you’ve seen the film, you’ll be aware of his outstanding performance. I can’t see anyone else directing this film. The story revolves around Patrick Bateman, an investment banking executive. He was born into an upper-class family, so he is extremely wealthy. But, in order to improve his fortune, he also works hard on Wall Street. He is attractive, diligent, and intellectual. However, few people are aware of his cruel tendencies, which become unrestrained at night. Follow this psychopath as he tries to satisfy his violent urges, and prepare for one of the most perplexing endings you’ve ever encountered.
Children of The Corn (1984)
I’m not sure how Stephen King comes up with such fantastic horror concepts. To write such dark themed horror stories, you need a part of you to be dead. The plot of ‘Children of the Corn’ is based on a Stephen King short story. It takes place in the Nebraska community of Gaitlin. Isaac, a young boy, is a preacher. He arrives in Gatlin and rallies the youngsters to murder their parents and other adults in some sort of horrific sacrificial ceremony. A couple wishes to file a murder report. As a result, they decide to travel to Gaitlin, the neighboring town. When they arrive in town, they discover it is abandoned. They’re soon imprisoned in the town, with no possibility of escaping.

Jacob’s Ladder (1990)
This is a fantastic horror film available on Hulu. The plot is interesting, and Tim Robbins delivers one of his greatest performances. Since we live in the spoiler generation, I’m sure you’ve heard the conclusion someplace, but that shouldn’t deter you from seeing the film. Jacob Singer, a New York Postal worker, is played by Tim Robbins. His life has started to get increasingly bizarre. He is frequently having flashbacks to the period he spent in Vietnam. He’s also haunted by memories of his first marriage and his deceased son. Despite his wife’s best efforts, he fears he is losing his mind as the boundary between hallucination and reality begins to blur.
Let Me In (2010)
The following film is a vampire film. Owen, a 12-year-old boy, is the male protagonist of the film. He is a lonely child who gets bullied at school by some of the lads in his class on a regular basis. Owen can’t do anything about it because he’s powerless, so he sits at home daydreaming about avenging himself. He meets a girl named Abby, who is the same age as him, one day. Abby’s father is a serial killer who is infamous for draining his victims’ blood. Abby is a vampire, and the blood her father takes from his victims is used to satisfy his daughter’s bloodlust, unbeknownst to Owen. Owen is terrified of her when he discovers her secret, yet he can’t help but love her. Abby then proposes that Owen exact his vengeance.
Paranormal Activity (2007)
We now have ‘Paranormal Activity,’ which is the latest found footage horror film. This was, in my opinion, one of the best found footage horror films I have ever watched. It’s terrifying and made me pee my pants. The film is terrifying because of the nighttime atmosphere and the fact that it is being viewed through camera footage. The story follows Katie and Micah, a couple who decide to move into a new home. They begin to observe strange nighttime phenomena soon after moving. Katie admits to having experienced the presence of a ghost as a youngster and fears that it has followed her. Micah is suspicious and installs surveillance cameras in their home to see if anything is amiss. Their worst worries are confirmed when they study the film.
‘Saw,’ one of the most well-known horror films of the twenty-first century, is up next. It’s difficult to keep your gaze fixed on the screen at all times. I’m pretty sure I closed my eyes at least five times throughout the movie. I skipped a lot of parts when I watched it on my laptop recently. What are you waiting for if you’re a fan of gore and haven’t seen this film yet? Make it happen tonight! The film depicts a serial killer dubbed Jigsaw who has kidnapped two guys and set clues for them to follow in order to escape his misery. The men quickly understand they are in the middle of a deadly game and must figure out how to get out of here. Will they be able to withstand the torture?
Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010)
The finest horror films are the ones that are hilarious. This is solely from my perspective. It’s entertaining to watch ‘Tucker and Dale against Evil.’ There is gore, but it’s the kind of gore that makes you laugh out loud because of its stupidity and humorous nature. Tucker and Dale are two loving hillbillies who just want to spend some quality time together at their home in the hills, sipping beer and fishing. However, they quickly run into difficulty when a bunch of college kids misidentifies them as backwoods chainsaw-wielding maniacs. I’m curious where they got that notion. In any case, what follows is a fascinating journey that will make you chuckle a few times.
The Amityville Horror (2005)
If you watch this film solely as a haunted home horror film, you may not find it particularly frightening. But it’s when you connect the dots in this movie’s narrative and understand that these events actually occurred in real time that you become truly afraid. George and Kathy Lutz, along with their children, move into a new house in the plot. The house has a dreadful history, as it was the scene of a mass murder a year ago. The family tries to ignore it, but quickly discovers that it is nearly impossible. They are met by a demonic presence as well as bizarre images. The story has been told in an effective manner, which adds to the whole experience.
The Dead Zone (1983)
Christopher Walken is one of my favorite actors. He is one of Hollywood’s top actors. His acting in this film is outstanding. The story concerns Johnny Smith (Christopher Walken), who is engaged in a fatal car accident while returning from his fiance’s house one night, leaving him in a coma. After five years, he awakens to discover that he has acquired extraordinary telepathic abilities. He has the capacity to see into the past, present, and future of anyone he comes into contact with. Though it may appear to be a good gift at first, it soon gets him into a lot of trouble, especially after the police ask him to assist them in a murder investigation.
The House of The Devil (2009)
If this film had been released in the 1980s, it would have been a smash hit. Satanic themes, religious horror, and horror houses were all popular at the period. However, I enjoyed viewing this film, at least the first half of it. The plot is straightforward and follows Samantha, a college student in severe need of financial assistance. Her roommate isn’t the kind of person she’d like to live with, so she moves into a new apartment. She had found one, but she needed money to pay the rent. Samantha responds to a babysitting ad she saw on the college bulletin board. On the night of the moon eclipse, she visits Mr. and Mrs. Ulman at their home. Unbeknownst to her, however, this location hides a dark and dangerous secret. One, that might very well put her life in jeopardy.
The Others (2001)
This horror film starring Nicole Kidman will astonish you with its storytelling approach. The picture takes place in the 1940s. Nicole Kidman portrays Grace, a widow with two photosensitive children who stays with her. This causes her to close the curtains. Grace decides to recruit some household help. She employs the services of three individuals: a maid, a housekeeper, and a gardener. Following that, she begins to notice weird occurrences in the house and suspects that there are intruders present. She decides to find out the truth, but what she discovers is far more terrifying.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)
When it comes to horror, I’m not a big fan of gore. For me, the plot and characters are far more crucial. ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ was the first segment of this film that I viewed. However, calling this film a sequel would be misleading because the plot does not continue. Leatherface and a lot of gore are the only things that the makers kept. The plot is quite straightforward, as is typical of these films that focus heavily on gore. An open request night is being hosted by a radio personality. She is irritated by two prank callers who continue to phone and disturb her. They are killed by cannibals with chainsaws, though, and die soon after. The RJ enlists the assistance of a Texas marshal, who later reveals that he has a personal vendetta against the cannibals.
If you go by the ratings for these films, you may be discouraged from seeing them. But let me tell you something: horror films are made to scare you, not to make you think about the theme or philosophy. For a few days after watching ‘V/H/S,’ I was terrified. Yes, I am easily frightened, but the film was also quite frightening. The plot is interesting. This film can be described as a horror film based on found footage. A gang of burglars is tasked with breaking into a house and stealing a valuable V/H/S tape. But it’s easier said than done when the team discovers a dead body and a slew of V/H/S tapes, each one scarier and stranger than the last.
You’re Next (2011)
Well, it appears that you could fill the entire list with slasher films. ‘You’re Next’ is a film about an innocent vacation that goes horribly wrong. The Davison family is attempting to hold their reunion on the anniversary of the couple’s wedding. Everything appears to be in order, but is it? After all, isn’t it a horror film? As a bunch of ax-wielding murderers chases the family in order to kill them, their holiday quickly turns into a bloodbath. They are, however, unaware of a family member’s hidden talent. A talent that allows that person to track out the hunters and warn them that ‘They’re Next.’
