The events surrounding the kidnapping and captivity of 11-year-old Jaycee Dugard in 1991 by infamous sex offender Phillip Craig Garrido and his wife, Nancy, are detailed in the book “Captive for 18 Years: The Jaycee Lee Story.” The fifth-grader was quickly sought after, but despite multiple witnesses, no leads were ever discovered. Jaycee was therefore reported missing until 2009, when a fresh investigation resulted in the 29-year-and old’s her two girls’ rescue. Now that it has been a while, let’s learn everything there is to know about the latter.
Who Are Jaycee Dugard’s Daughters?
Jaycee Lee Dugard gave birth to Angel, the first of her daughters whose father was her abductor Phillip Garrido, nearly three years after she was kidnapped from outside her California home. She was 13 when she became pregnant, had no concept what labour may entail, and started experiencing excruciating contractions while still confined to a shed in the Garridos’ backyard. Jaycee had never been released, so she was aware that there wouldn’t be any medical personnel, and she was correct. Only nursing assistant Nancy Garrido assisted with the delivery. Fortunately, everything went smoothly, and Jaycee felt at last that she wasn’t alone thanks to her daughter Angel.
Another little girl, Starlet, entered Jaycee’s life in 1997, when she was 17 years old. She was allowed to convert their tent/compound into a homeschool since Phillip Garrido had loosen some of the constraints on his victim with the birth of their daughters. While teaching them everything she knew, Jaycee had to tell them a falsehood and say that Nancy was their mother and not her. According to The Telegraph, Angel, 15, and Starlet, 11, (also known as Starlit and Starlite), did not know the truth until they were freed from their father’s control in August 2009. They didn’t find out about the abduction of their real mother until after that.
