We receive an open, uncompromising view into the life, death, and secrets of the titular model-actress thanks to Netflix’s “Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me,” which lives up to its title in every manner possible. After all, it thoughtfully includes both never-before-seen material and exclusive interviews with some of the important people who were once close to her in order to truly shed light on her awful circumstances. Two of her (half) brothers, Donald Hart Jr. and Donnie Hogan, were among those to thus feature here to assist advance the story, so let’s simply learn more about them right now, shall we?
Who Are Anna Nicole Smith’s Brothers?
Although Vickie Lynn Hogan, the sole child of Virgie Mae Tabers and Donald Eugene Hogan, was born on November 28, 1967, Anna was later raised by her aunt because of familial issues. According to reports, her parents actually separated by the time she was two years old, after which she reportedly grew to dislike both her mother and her stepfather James Arthur. The truth is that her biological father was never even a consideration because he had quickly relocated from their Southeast Texas home to start a new life and family of his own.
Anna has many half-siblings, including Donna, Amy, Donnie, and maybe two more on her father’s side, as well as David, Shana, and Donald Jr. on her mother’s side. She did, however, grow up in a humble household with the previous generation, at least until she was sent to live with her maternal aunt in Mexia, Texas, in the ninth grade.
Nevertheless, Donald still has memories of their time together. “Vicki was four years older than I am,” he candidly said in the documentary. She consistently made me chuckle. She always looked nice. She once attempted to apply cosmetics on me, but I refused to let her. “I don’t do that kind of stuff,” I remarked. Real males allow women to apply makeup on them, she claimed. I remarked, “‘I don’t think so.'”
Donald also claimed that although they were a devout family who frequently attended church together, their dynamic significantly changed as Vicki grew up, left home, and eventually found fame. She started looking for her biological father at that point, not knowing that Virgie had actually divorced him for sexually abusing her sister, who was then 10 years old, and another young girl.
Vicki was 23 when she finally managed to get in touch with the rest of her family after hiring a private detective, but her hopes were quickly dashed when she discovered that her father had supposedly also tried to rape her. And this after her little brother Donnie, who in the original production was afraid of their father, had found a way to warn her that dad was a monster.
“My father is not the type of person you want to spend time alone with… You won’t feel secure, Donnie said in the documentary that Ursula Macfarlane directed. He scares me a lot. He always made me nervous. ‘I’ll kill you dead,’ [he used to threaten. I’ll immediately stomp your skull into the ground. He’s the kind of guy that looks directly at you, and you genuinely think he’ll do that.
Donnie thinks it’s plausible that his father actually tried to abuse Anna despite the fact that he only occasionally (if ever) left her alone with their father because “I was there every step of the way. But guess what? It’s possible that he did. I mean… I suppose I wasn’t present constantly. So it might be accurate. Anna did, however, experience genuine parental affection on one hand, since her relationship with her mother is said to have become better.
Where Are Anna Nicole Smith’s Brothers Now?
According to what we can tell, Anna/Vicki’s siblings mainly prefer to stay out of the spotlight these days, although we do know that the vast majority of them have kept their homes in their native Texas. Additionally, they have families of their own, whose stability, safety, and well-being appear to be their primary priorities; as a result, they even avoid sharing vital information on their social media accounts.
In terms of the information we do have, we do know that Donald Hart and Trina Lowe Hart are happily married, and that half-sister Donna Hogan Reineman is a published novelist who wrote a book about their family called “Train Wreck.” Donnie Hogan, on the other hand, is somewhat obscure to the general public.
