Everything we know about LeBron James’ father Anthony McClelland following the Lakers legend’s achievement of NBA history.
By surpassing Michael Jordan as the all-time leading scorer, LeBron James has further solidified his NBA legacy. The previous record of 38,387 points held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar could be surpassed by James with just 36 points.
On February 7th, 2023, James defeated the Thunder and racked up 38 points, including a record-breaking fadeaway two-pointer.
“I want to thank everyone who has ever participated in this run with me over the past 20+ years because without all of you, I wouldn’t be who I am today. You all contributed. I’ve come this far because of your dedication and sacrifices,” he remarked.
LEBRON JOINED BY HIS WIFE, MOTHER AND CHILDREN
Following his victory over Kareem’s 39-year record, The King was understandably emotional. LeBron joined his mother Gloria Marie James and wife Savannah James, who he has been with since high school, after making the shot to take the No. 1 spot.
LeBron’s children, daughter Zhuri and sons Bronny and Bryce, recently joined the family.
WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT LEBRON JAMES BIOLOGICAL DAD ANTHONY MCCLELLAND
Anthony McClelland, LeBron James’ biological father, was conspicuous by his absence. McClelland has been absent for the most of LeBron James’ life and was not around during his formative years.
Gloria James and Anthony McClelland reportedly had a casual relationship at the time that Gloria, then 16 years old, became pregnant with LeBron. Gloria raised LeBron alone because McClelland wasn’t around for his birth.
According to reports, LeBron has never met Anthony McClelland, and he and his father are still not close. LeBron James rejected McClelland’s attempt to reach out to him in 2002 despite the fact that he supposedly spent time in and out of prison.
LeBron’s real father is allegedly someone who has made claims about him in the past, including a man by the name of Leicester Bryce Stovell. These, however, purportedly turned out to be untrue.
Another myth claims that Roland Bivins, a man who was allegedly shot and killed when LeBron was eight years old, is the father of LeBron James. Some people have even claimed that McClelland is Bivens, however these rumours are unfounded and remain online rumours. A purported photo of McClelland has previously circulated on social media, but its validity has not been established.
Although LeBron is an only child, some sources claim that he has a half-brother by the name of Aaron McClelland Gamble.
LEBRON ONCE THANKED HIS FATHER FOR NOT BEING IN HIS LIFE
It goes without saying that LeBron has managed to succeed in life without his father. He thanked his father for being absent from his life in an Instagram message he sent to him in 2014.
James recalled his father saying to him, “Wow, Dad, you know what, I don’t know you, I have no idea who you are, but because of you is part of the reason who I am today.
The fuel I use—you not being there—is a big part of how I developed into the person I am now. I want to be actively involved in all of my pursuits, in part because of this. and be able to position the men I now have with me. like Maverick Carter, my business partner and right-hand man. My agent, Rich Paul. My friend and manager, Randy Mims, as you may know.
So if I had two parents, two sisters, a dog, and a picket fence, you know, it might not have happened for me to be in a position where I could help those around me grow.
