The second season of the BBC comedy “Black Ops” has officially been ordered. In the first quarter of 2024, filming for the new season is scheduled to start in London, England. The series is based on “the story of Dom and Kay, who join the Met Police in the hope of cleaning up their community but are unwittingly thrust into the murky world of deep cover infiltration as they become part of a powerful criminal enterprise,” according to the official logline.
Waltham Forest, a borough of London, and the town of Luton both hosted the first season’s production. The city, which has already hosted the filming of shows including “Secret Invasion,” “Euphoria,” “The Crown,” and “You,” will also serve as the location for the second season. A number of recently released movies were also filmed in London, including “Barbie,” “Heart of Stone,” “Red, White & Royal Blue,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “The Flash,” and “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.”
Gbemisola Ikumelo and Akemnji Ndifornyen, who play Dom and Tevin, respectively, in the show, also produced the thriller series. Ikumelo is a BAFTA-winning performer, recognised for her portrayal in ‘A League of Their Own.’ Ndifornyen, who has also won a BAFTA, is a character in the films “The Queen’s Gambit” and “Famalam.” The show’s creators are Joe Tucker and Lloyd Woolf, a team best known for their work on “Parents” and “Big Bad World.”
The second season will see the return of Ndifornyen, Ikumelo, and Kay, played by Hammed Animashaun (‘The Wheel of Time’ and ‘The Festival’). The remaining cast members have not yet been made public. When discussing the show’s renewal, Ndifornyen exclaimed, “And we’re back! We simply had to perform the first one again since we had so much fun. Many thanks to our viewers for tuning in and to the BBC for its assistance. I’m eager to reveal what will happen to Dom, Kay, and Tevin going forward. “Let’s go!”
It’s been such a thrill to witness how fans have embraced our event, Ikumelo said in addition to expressing her excitement. Therefore, getting the band back together to generate more danger, excitement, and hilarity for everyone seems like a no-brainer. Dom and Kay promise to really surprise us in the upcoming season. Can’t wait!” “We’re thrilled to get the chance to send Dom and Kay on a brand-new caper,” Joe Tucker and Lloyd Woolf continued.
‘Black Ops’ season 2’s storyline is currently unknown, however the six-episode run is anticipated to continue the events of season 1. Dom and Kay will probably have to deal with far tougher obstacles as they carry on operating covertly for the Met Police. In collaboration with Mondo Deluxe Productions, BBC Studios Comedy Productions produces the show.
