Fans of Bridgerton, happy new year! The much-awaited prequel Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will debut in 2023. It follows the titular Charlotte (India Amarteifio) as she marries a youthful King George (Corey Mylchreest), bringing about revolution throughout the Ton. Audiences will still be able to catch a peek of some of London society’s most recognisable characters in their younger years even if the series is set some time before the events of the main Bridgerton series.
As was previously mentioned, Arsema Thomas’ portrayal of a young Lady Danbury will be one of those faces. A new first-look image from Netflix shows a young Agatha Danbury dressed to the nines and having a chat with someone who might be Charlotte. The younger version of Lady Danbury, according to Netflix, would depict a woman seeking her place in a society in transition while serving as Charlotte’s confidante and mentor in the early stages of her marriage. Even though Lady Danbury is married to the somewhat older Lord Danbury (Cyril Nri), the series will show her developing into the mature character Bridgerton fans have grown to like.
The picture also gives us a fair idea that the series would spend a lot of time describing how Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury came to be such close friends. In Bridgerton, it is evident that Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) and Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) have a strong relationship and even conspire with one another over the romantic lives of the young people in their immediate vicinity.
