At the age of 93, retired US astronaut Buzz Aldrin, who was the second person to set foot on the moon, got married for the fourth time. On January 20, his 93rd birthday, he wed Dr. Anca Faur, his 63-year-old longtime partner.
The ex-pilot tweeted about his joy, describing himself and Faur as “eloping youngsters.” Aldrin is one of just four people now living who have set foot on the moon. To learn more about his wedding, keep reading.
Buzz Aldrin Gets Married to Anca Faur on his 93rd Birthday
In Los Angeles, there was a little ceremony for the wedding. Aldrin shared the joyful news on Twitter on Friday, writing, “On my 93rd birthday and the day I will also be recognized by Living Legends of Aviation I am glad to report that my lifelong girlfriend Dr. Anca Faur and I have married the marriage.”
The astronaut wrote, “We were wedded in holy marriage in a modest private ceremony in Los Angeles & are as excited as eloping teens.” He also uploaded a picture of the happy couple posing for the camera from the ceremony. They were seen conversing naturally in another picture.

For her special day, Faur wore a white gown embellished with crystals, while Aldrin wore a black suit that was heavily pinned. The Ph.D. Dr. Faur has is in chemical engineering. She has been Buzz Aldrin Ventures’ executive vice president since 2019.
Aldrin was Previously Married Thrice
The space legend will be getting married for the fourth time to Faur. His first marriage, to Joan Archer, lasted 20 years, from 1954 until 1974. James, Andrew, and Janice were the couple’s two sons and one daughter.
Aldrin and Beverly Van Zile got married in 1975, but the union only lasted three years. He wed Lois Driggs Cannon, his third wife, in 1988. Prior to divorcing in 2012 after 24 years of marriage.
Buzz Aldrin is the Only Surviving Member of the First Manned Lunar Mission
Buzz Aldrin made history in 1969 when he joined Neil Armstrong as the second person to set foot on the moon’s surface. During the Apollo 11 mission, which marked the first time that humans set foot on the moon, he was the Lunar Module Eagle’s pilot. Aldrin, along with Armstrong and Michael Collins, is currently the only survivor of the mission.
Aldrin gained enormous popularity as a result of the mission and gained overnight world recognition. “I hadn’t given what might happen next any attention. In a 2001 interview, he had said, “I wasn’t that ready or comfortable to be forced into the public glare so much.
