Mona is first introduced to us in the Roger M. Bobb-directed Hallmark Christmas romance “Christmas with a Kiss.” She is an accomplished social media brand spokesperson who hasn’t had much luck finding love. The influencer from New York goes back to her birthplace to take part in the annual Christmas funfair. Her parents and sister greet her with warmth, and together they share memories of her grandfather and his wish-granting Christmas tree. Being married before turning thirty-five was one of the desires she had placed in the tree. They soothe her, telling her that kissing him under the mistletoe after the funfair dance is said to bring true love, just as it had for them, and suggest going on a date. Despite her scepticism, Mona soon bumps across her former crush, Fletcher, who has since joined the fire service. It doesn’t take long to realise that spark still exists between them.
A dashing reporter named Dez interviews her in the interim and asks about the funfair custom that her great-grandfather founded. The two unexpectedly become smitten with one another as she leads him through customs. Mona, who was earlier unlucky in love, is currently being pursued by two attractive men. For the Christmas funfair dance, she merely needs to choose the appropriate one. As you watch this endearing story play out in a quaint, holiday-themed town, you might be wondering where it was filmed and which actors brought the characters to life.
Christmas with a Kiss Filming Locations
The Ontario province’s Greater Toronto region, which includes the municipalities of Oakville and Milton, served as the filming location for Christmas with a Kiss. Early in October 2023, principle photography was underway, and it was finished that same month. So allow us to walk you through the precise filming sites that served as the Hallmark Channel film’s backdrop.
Toronto, Ontario
For filmmakers, the densely populated provincial capital offers a famous and varied setting. It meets the needs for a range of filmmaking backdrops with its historic streets, verdant parks, tall skyscrapers, and charming outskirts. The city also has an abundance of talent, infrastructure, and film crews. These benefits, along with tax rebates for filming in the city, make Toronto an appealing location for productions. As a result, the city becomes a regular setting for Christmas films. A Christmas Story, The Santa Claus, Fur Crazy, and Scrooged are a few of these.
Milton, Ontario
Milton, a town southwest of Toronto, is tucked away adjacent to Mississauga and epitomises the perfect fusion of urban convenience and scenic beauty. With its quaint centre decked out in holiday decorations and ancient buildings radiating seasonal warmth, this burgeoning town provides a picturesque backdrop for making endearing Christmas movies. The peaceful town’s residents discovered that between October 4 and October 13, a portion of Milton’s Main Streetâfrom James to Martin Streetâwas closed off for “Christmas with a Kiss” filming. The film’s skilled production team set the stage for the Christmas funfair scenes by transforming a portion of downtown Milton into a jolly winter wonderland. The small parking lot between Chudleigh Blossom CafĂ© and Knox Presbyterian Church had been roped off and creatively transformed into the pretend Christmas celebration. The redesigned set included fake snow and wackily decorated stores specifically designed for the Christmas film. Whenever the members of our love triangle are out taking in the town’s celebrations, the set can be seen in several of the movie’s scenes.
Oakville Ontario
Oakville is a sizable, enthralling town on Lake Ontario’s shoreline, located east of Milton. It is one of the wealthier suburbs in the Greater Toronto Area, which has one of the highest population densities in the country. The town’s tiny downtown, which is home to ancient buildings and beautiful businesses, has a festive vibe during the holidays. Its allure as a shooting setting for creating enduring stories of the Christmas spirit is increased by its tree-lined streets, which are decked out with festive decorations and sparkling lights that arouse feelings of cosiness and nostalgia.
