On behalf of himself and his family, he asked for privacy. In this most hard time, he said they would appreciate the prayers and thoughts.
The congressman stated, “We tried our best to provide Rosa with a secure, warm, and accepting atmosphere when she came to live with us as a little girl who had been in the foster care system.”
The manner of death of Chuy Garca Daughter was not immediately disclosed.
Garcia has represented the 4th District of Illinois since 2019. On the day of Chicago’s mayoral runoff, the information was made widely known.
Garcia ran for mayor and came in fourth place in the first-round vote on February 28.

Chuy Garcia takes satisfaction in representing the Fourth Congressional District of Illinois. On January 3, 2019, he took the oath of office to begin the 116th Congress. Garcia also passed legislation that forbids Chicago County from working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
He entered politics in 1984 when he was chosen to serve on the committee for the Chicago County Democratic Party. He quickly gained a reputation for forming partnerships between the Latino and Black American populations of Chicago.
Congressman Garca was subsequently selected to represent Chicago’s 22nd District in the City Council. When serving as an alderman, Congressman Garca prevented non-attorney immigration practitioners from charging unreasonable fees.
Mr. Garca also represented Illinois’ 1st District as a state senator. In 1993, he signed the Language Support Services Act, which mandated that hospitals and long-term care facilities have the equipment required to successfully communicate with deaf and limited-English-speaking patients.
