There have been plenty of celebrity splits in 2022. After 12 years of marriage, Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet announced their separation in January, kicking off the new year. Over the summer, Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson’s whirlwind romance abruptly ended after nine months, with some rumours attributing the breakup to long distance. Following months of reports of marital issues, Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady also revealed that their 13-year relationship had come to an end in October.
Many of the celebrity couples we were expecting would be together forever ended up not being meant to be. Some relationships ended amicably, while others seemed more one-sided and dramatic. Of course, there were some happy romance stories throughout the year. The year 2022 was marked by both love and grief, from Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian’s lavish Italian wedding to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez‘s reconciliation after a two-decade separation.
Here are some of the 2022’s most notable celebrity splits.
Ali Wong and Justin Hakuta
After eight years of marriage, Wong and Hakuta divorced in April. They were wed in 2014 after meeting in 2010 at a wedding. Mari and Nikki, their two children, were born in 2015 and 2017, respectively. According to a spokesperson who confirmed their separation to People, “It’s amicable and they will continue to coparent lovingly.”
Since their divorce, Wong has been briefly associated with Bill Hader, albeit there is no proof of this.

But in April, Tish and Billy Ray filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage.
The pair sent a joint statement to People in which they discussed their breakup. It stated, “We have decided to go our separate ways — not with grief, but with love in our hearts — after 30 years, five wonderful children, and a lifetime of memories. “We did not make this choice lightly or quickly, but with everything that is going on in the world, we felt it was vital to offer some clarity and closure so that we can continue to concentrate on what is crucial. Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, with Love and Hope.” Although they were able to patch things up the first two times, this is the third time the couple has filed for divorce.

In a May episode of her podcast, “Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best,” Phillips revealed that she and Silverstein had separated after nearly 15 years of marriage. She revealed that the couple had first broken up in February 2021.
She added that the divorce has been amicable. “The surest way that Marc and I have been able to ensure the privacy of our kids that we love so f*cking much was by not involving the public,” she said on the show. “We do, however, genuinely love one another. There are many aspects of our relationship that really work, and we have these gorgeous children together. I really wanted to be able to understand everything before I spoke publicly about [the split], and I can now clearly see how appreciative I am that I get to parent my children with him and that I had children with him.” Cricket Pearl, age 9, and Birdie Leigh, age 14, are the couple’s two children.

Since everyone has an opinion on their relationship, Pugh told the source, “We’ve been trying to do this separation without the world knowing.” “We simply believed that doing something similar would prevent millions of people from telling us how pleased they are that we are not together. So that’s what we did. When I talk about it, my throat instantly becomes sore.”

According to USA Today, Bündchen and Brady originally connected through common friends in 2007 and were wed in 2009. In addition to Jack, Brady’s 15-year-old son from a previous relationship, they have two children together, Vivian, 10, and Benjamin, 13, as well as Jack’s older brother, Brady.
