The former police officer was terminated and then arrested due to her inappropriate and illegal behaviour with a prisoner, which was caught on camera by the Georgia Detention Officer.

Kawana Jenkins was suspended on Wednesday, March 22, following the discovery of a videotape on a contraband mobile that was taken during a Fulton County Jail shakedown, purportedly showing her engaged in sexual misconduct with an inmate.

The Kawana Jenkins video shows Jenkins sitting on the lap of the alleged murderer Jamal Ward and kissing and licking his face. The video was shot sometime between December and March of last year.

A warrant states that Ward can be heard pleading with Jenkins to “give ’em to me,” demanding a pair of Cartier glasses, which Jenkins eventually gives to Ward.

A different mobile that purportedly showed Jenkins licking and s*cking Ward’s finger while he was in detention was seized in March.

Since December 2019, Jenkins has worked with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. She was given a $135,000 bond after her arrest and is presently being held in the jail where she was employed.

According to court records from Fulton County, during the search of the illegal cell phone, detectives uncovered Jenkins and Ward’s prohibited relationship.

Following Jenkins’ arrest, Fulton Sheriff Pat Labat declared his dedication to openness and holding every employee responsible.

The sheriff declared, “The great majority of employees deserve praise for their honesty, dedication to duty, and the work they do every day.”

Sheriff Labat issued a statement in which he stated, “The actions of this one individual are certainly not a reflection of the men and women of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.”

She and the prisoner had a long-term relationship, the authorities also disclosed.

He further stressed that while the majority of the men and women in the sheriff’s office are commended for their honesty, dedication to service, and day-to-day work, her acts do not represent them.

Jenkins is charged with two counts of improper sexual contact by an employee or agent, five counts of public officer oath violation, two counts of reckless conduct, two counts of cruelty to inmates, and one count of obtaining, procuring, or giving an inmate a prohibited item without authorization, according to the sheriff’s office.

The case of Kawana Jenkins is being looked into. This week, she also made her debut in court.
