Here is the newest biographical war movie from Hollywood, and it is quite charming and moving. The November 23 release of Devotion, starring Jonathan Majors and Glen Powell, received positive reviews from those who watched it, despite its lacklustre $6 million (according to Box Office Mojo) opening weekend box office haul.
It’s not unexpected Powell gave another strong performance given his enormous potential. He is able to rapidly adapt to any character, whether that be as a hero, a complex villain, a fighter, or just a relatable, everyday person, as fans can see from his broad filmography on Rotten Tomatoes, much of which is certified fresh. All of his characters have left an enduring effect, but there’s no denying that some stand out significantly more than others.

Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood, which is set around the 1969 moon landing, centres on Stan, a young child that NASA asks to try out equipment that is too small for an adult to use.
In Apollo 10 1/2, Powell plays Bostick, one of the two men who finds and trains Stan for the moon trip. Powell and his co-stars are recognisable despite being animated thanks to the rotoscoping process, which is most comparable to that of Undone. Powell must be a space and aviation enthusiast. Powell is a standout in the movie as Finnegan. Every character has flaws and frequently harmful behaviours, but they all manage to be somewhat likeable. Everybody Wants Some!! was written and directed by Richard Linklater, and it is partially based on his own experience playing collegiate baseball in the 1980s. Although the majority of viewers love it, not everyone will. It seems to be targeted towards those who would find nostalgia in the movie’s portrayal of the “average college experience.”

Hidden Figures, which is based on a true story, draws attention to the unsung heroes of the space race. Astrophysicists Mary Jackson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Katherine Johnson all broke down barriers at NASA. When others didn’t take Johnson seriously, John Glenn stood up for her because he trusted her numbers. Glen Powell portrays the astronaut effectively and says several memorable lines despite not being the main focus of the movie. Although the real John Glenn did not see the film because he passed away weeks before its premiere, his legacy—along with the legacies of Johnson, Vaughan, and Jackson—will endure for decades.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (2020 – 2022) – 92%

When Darius wins a trip to Jurassic World’s Camp Cretaceous, a sleep-away camp, he and a few new pals explore the area and frequently get into mischief.
Dave, one of the camp counsellors, is voiced by Powell. Although he is quite relaxed back, he watches after the youngsters and assumes leadership when necessary. Camp Cretaceous is a fantastic sequel series that is chock full of hidden Easter eggs. It received higher ratings from critics than the other two Jurassic World movies combined. Despite being more geared towards children, this show is enjoyable for viewers of all ages since it maintains the thrill and enchantment that made the original movie so adored. Powell’s participation is merely a plus.

A slasher comedy series called Scream Queens makes fun of poisonous sororities and the genre as a whole. The programme is wildly extravagant and far from a nice, suspenseful TV show.
Chad Radwell, a major figure in season 1, is portrayed by Glen Powell. He is an arrogant college student who has strange interests and hobbies, including an obsession with death and girls. Powell also portrays Chad in Everybody Wants Some!! with a crazy sense of humour, similar to JT in Sex Ed and Finn. Even though the character has obvious shortcomings, viewers can’t help but love him.

In the romantic comedy Set It Up, two personal assistants try to get their domineering bosses to back off by setting them up. Charlie is portrayed by Powell opposite Harper by Zoey Deutch.
Charlie is a miserable assistant who doesn’t have time for his partner or to do anything enjoyable aside from work. Powell excels in what is likely his most prominent part to date. He and Deutch get along like a house on fire, which is why the Set It Up screenwriter is bringing them back for a brand-new romantic comedy called Most Dangerous Game.

In the movie Sex Ed, played by Haley Joel Osment, a new teacher uses an after-school programme to educate pupils about the value of sex education. He also has his sights set on a student’s older sister in order to eventually lose his virginity.
At the beginning of the movie, Glen Powell plays JT, Eddie’s (Osment’s) roommate and friend. JT is a good friend who pushes Eddie to pursue his goals even though he doesn’t always respect boundaries. Sex The movie promotes a sex-positive theme and demonstrates that a person’s virginity status does not make them any less of a person in this society, even though Ed can be crude or problematic at times. Powell gives a funny performance, and their on-screen chemistry is the film’s high point.

This movie, which is based on a book by Annie Burrows, centres on a young novelist in post-World War II Europe who stumbles onto an intriguing reading club that was established on the island of Guernsey during the Second World War. This historical fiction Netflix original film stars Lily James, Michiel Housman, and Jessica Brown Findlay.
Powell portrays Juliet’s New York-based fiancé Mark Reynolds. Powell’s portrayal of the character is warmer and more significant than it is in the novel. Fans of the book voiced their disapproval of this, but the actors’ performances and the gorgeous photography more than make up for the change.

Powell portrays Jake “Hangman” Seresin, a conceited pilot who enjoys causing commotion. His call sign suggests that, if necessary, he wouldn’t think twice about abandoning a fellow pilot. He actually cares about them and aggressively gets involved in the battle as Maverick and Rooster are ready to be shot out of the sky. Devotion and Top Gun: Maverick were both released in 2022. In both movies, Powell plays a Navy pilot, which is a role that fits him perfectly. Given that he also worked on Hidden Figures and Apollo 10 1/2, it is likely that he has always been interested in aviation and selects the best projects that fall within this category.
