Good Omens season two is now underway, which means Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Crowley (David Tennant) have been distracted with more important issues rather than spending an eternity sipping champagne at The Ritz.
Given that Neil Gaiman earlier told Digital Spy that he and the late Terry Pratchett had “always decided” they would work on Good Omens “together or not at all,” many people might find that surprising.
Gaiman informed us that the first season of the show also included a number of facts from the unfinished 668: The Neighbor of the Beast, the prequel to the original novel.
He responded, “Things like spreading into heaven and hell.” “Although Gabriel (Jon Hamm) and the other angels and a number of the other demons are not in the book, Terry Pratchett and I discussed what we would do in a sequel in great detail.
So, in a sense, I’ve already exhausted that stuff.
There is no doubt that Gaiman has come up with a lot more ideas since then, and he did subsequently remark that “we could definitely go back and produce a lot more” if enough people enjoyed the project.
The aforementioned statement was made prior to him appearing to rule out returning to that environment once more, but enough about the past. Right now, everyone is anticipating everything from Good Omens season two.
Here is all the information you require.
Good Omens season 2 potential release date: When will it air?
There is still no known release date for Good Omens 2 as of April 2022. The show is currently in post-production, though, so it’s possible that it won’t surface on our screens until the year’s end.
In Scotland, filming began in November 2021 and ended in early March 2022. A picture of Aziraphale’s recognisable cream coat hanging off a door served as Michael Sheen’s confirmation of the news on Twitter.
He annotated it as follows: “We need all the angels we can get at times like this. Sadly, this one needs to hang his coat up. However….#GoodOmens2”

The same day, Georgia Tennant, David’s wife, joked that he had been “exorcised” from the demonic character as she posted a picture of David with his trademark bright red hair changing back to brown.
Unsurprisingly, Douglas Mackinnon has been re-employed as the film’s director, and Neil Gaiman has returned as executive producer and co-showrunner.
This material was transferred from Instagram. At their website, you might be able to discover the same material in a different format or more details.
“We had to demonstrate that we could transport them both to Scotland. The Los Angeles Zoom call was met with puzzled looks. They then left, attempting to determine where Scotland was “he told Deadline, Mackinnon. “The best local talent can be found here. Local gives it a slightly embarrassed sound. Neil and I are bringing these shows here at last, and I’m thrilled about it since it seems like no one is afraid to do them.”
It’s incredibly exciting that Amazon shared a few fresh photos from the shoot to commemorate the beginning of production.

Gaiman is undoubtedly thrilled to be back on set.
The creator of the show exclaimed, “I am so delighted to be back here on the streets of Soho, watching, every day, the beautiful performances of Michael Sheen and David Tennant” (via CBR). “Although I mourn Terry Pratchett’s brilliance, it seems as though we are all still inside of his head.
It has been a great delight to work with director and my co-showrunner Douglas Mackinnon as he steers the ship, along with our incredible team, who have returned to do it again, and to have the genius John Finnemore co-write this season’s plot hijinks with me.
For the second season of Good Omens, the players’ reunion is like reuniting a family, only this time in Scotland, according to Mackinnon. “Many of our Good Omens season one crew members have come back, along with the cast. I’m thrilled to be in charge of six more episodes of what we think will be wonderful entertainment as our crew is growing with new talent on both sides of the camera.”
Therefore, there will soon be six more episodes available for Amazon Prime subscribers to watch, and it appears that the creative team is just as pleased about this as we are.
Good Omens season 2 cast: Who’s in it?
Naturally, Tennant and Sheen are back as the show’s faces.
Paul Adeyefa, Michael McKean, Gloria Obianyo, Miranda Richardson, Maggie Service, Reece Shearsmith, and Nina Sosanya are other cast members who will be returning.
The cast of Good Omens has announced that several of the performers will portray brand-new roles. When we have more information on that intriguing discovery, we’ll let you know.
The cast has expanded to include Siân Phillips from Dune, Tim Downie from Outlander, Andi Osho from I May Destroy You, and Alex Norton from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Sadly, Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Satan in the show, won’t be returning, according to Deadline. The bad news was announced in January 2022.
Good Omens season 2 plot: What will happen
Gaiman stated, “Terry Pratchett and I laid in our own beds in a Seattle hotel room during a World Fantasy Convention and plotted the sequel 32 years ago. Good Omens has been out for 31 years” (via TV Line).
“We received our angels from the sequel, so I got to use some of it in Good Omens. Terry isn’t here anymore, but while he was, we discussed our plans for Good Omens and the direction the plot should take.”
He went on: “People have a lot of questions regarding what happened to our favourite Angel and Demon after that, as well as what happened before. The solutions you were looking for are provided here. We are back in Soho and travelling through time and space to solve a mystery that begins with an angel lost on the streets of Soho.”
According to Tennant, “It’s definitely less beneficial for the universe since it very surely means that we’ll have to deal with a brand-new existential danger to our existence, but, you know – swings and roundabouts.”
Gaiman recently disclosed to Radio Times that he and Pratchett were working on a sequel that explored “where the angels actually come from,” and based on what he revealed in the statement above, that is what we will receive.
