Dipper and Mabel are sent to stay with their Great Uncle Stan, also known as Grunkle Stan, when they are going to spend the summer in Gravity Falls. Grunkle Stan is constantly seeking for the newest ways to make or save money in his capacity as the proprietor of the Mystery Shack. Even though the Mystery Shack’s displays are all phoney, Grunkle Stan is hiding some important mysteries. Stan has a sensitive side for those he actually cares about, especially his great-niece and nephew, despite his outwardly tough exterior.
The enemy in Gravity Falls is Bill Cipher. Bill Cipher can enter people’s minds and bodies as an interdimensional demon and manipulate them to his whim. When his irritation gets the best of him, Bill Cipher turns blazing red with rage instead of his usual bright yellow triangle with one eye, which is reminiscent of Illuminati symbolism.
