Jason Sudeikis, Olivia Wilde’s ex-fiance, and their relationship seem to be amicable.
The actress and director, 38, was pictured Friday in Los Angeles hugging the Ted Lasso actor, 47, with whom she shares daughter Daisy Josephine, 6, and son Otis Alexander, 8, after PEOPLE announced their separation in November.
Wilde and Styles, both 28, are “taking a break,” a source told PEOPLE in November. They were originally linked in January 2021 while shooting on their film Don’t Worry Darling, on which she worked as both actress and director.
“He is currently touring internationally. She is concentrating on her work in L.A. and her children. They’re still very good friends, the insider continued, adding that it was a really amicable decision.”
Later, a different insider disclosed to PEOPLE: “For Olivia, the hiatus has been challenging. They have had various problems, but Olivia believed they would overcome them all. She feels let down. It’s just a difficult circumstance.”
A source informed PEOPLE that Wilde and Sudeikis called it quits on their seven-year engagement in the early months of 2020, two months before she and Styles were initially romantically linked.
They have established a wonderful co-parenting pattern, the insider claimed, and things have been amicable. “The children are the centre of the family and the relationship’s top concern.”
Since then, Wilde has criticised the reports that she ditched Sudeikis for Styles, telling Vanity Fair in September that “our relationship was finished long before I met Harry.”
It appears that Wilde and Sudeikis have gone past a trying time in their breakup. Wilde allegedly claimed in a court document that Sudeikis “chose to serve me in the most violent manner imaginable” and that it was “designed to scare me and catch me off guard” when she was served with custody papers onstage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last April.
In a court document of his own, Sudeikis reacted. According to Daily Mail, he stated, “I appreciate that the process server had simply done her duty; still, I truly regret what transpired.” “I am sincerely sorry that the incident ruined Olivia’s unique moment,” said the speaker. “Olivia’s lecture was a significant event for Olivia, both professionally and personally.”
