Since the premiere of Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981, Indiana Jones has been one of Hollywood’s most recognisable movie franchises for more than 40 years. Yet since Kingdom of the Crystal Skull brought Indiana back to life in 2008, fans have been wondering how much more battle the daredevil archaeologist has left in him. Yet it appears that Indiana Jones 5 will be the series’ last outing.
For the fifth entry in the series, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Harrison Ford plays the famed hero archaeologist once more. Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serve as executive producers alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel who also produce the movie. The score is once again being written by John Williams, who has done so for every Indiana Jones adventure since the first Raiders of the Lost Ark. Prepare yourself for the well-known goosebumps.
Although there was a significant amount of time between the original three Indiana Jones films and the most recent two sequels, Indiana Jones 5 has been in development since 1970—just one year after the events of the final film.
When Lucas and Spielberg bargained with Paramount for four sequels to Raiders of the Lost Ark, the idea for a fifth Indiana Jones movie first surfaced. In 2008, Lucas started looking into potential storylines for a fifth movie. Years went by with no progress made on the movie, but in 2012, after Kathleen Kennedy was appointed president of Lucasfilm, the situation changed.

Indiana Jones 5 synopsis
The two teasers from Lucasfilm reveal that this will be Indiana Jones’ final adventure and that it will be kind of a walk down memory lane, even if Disney has not yet provided an official plot summary for the movie.
While the majority of the movie takes place in 1969, we get to see a younger Indiana Jones, explore his past encounters with a Nazi from World War II, and watch him perform the standard Indiana Jones stunts like jumping out of aeroplanes, chasing motorcycles on horseback, surviving enormous explosions, leaping from moving vehicles, dodging speeding trains, etc.
In the trailer, Indiana Jones also mentions his lack of trust in magic as well as his experiences with things he can’t exactly explain. Along with the typical cave expeditions, mummified body encounters, and deep water dives that are depicted in the teaser, it is safe to anticipate that the movie will also explore fantasy regions.
Also, we get to see Jones work with a different heroine. But it’s actually his goddaughter, not a romantic interest.
The end of that. We don’t currently have any additional information regarding Indiana Jones 5; wait until Disney does.
