In Episode 6 of The Last of Us, Joel and Ellie’s strange relationship as father and daughter finally took a turn for the better as they learned more about each other. On top of that, they got a little closer to their goal of finding the Fireflies and reached their ultimate goal of helping them make a cure for the Cordyceps Brain Infection. But while they were in the university, which used to be the Fireflies’ home base, Joel was stabbed by a raider and fell off his horse. So, in The Last of Us, is Joel dead?
In The Last of Us, on HBO, Joel does not die. At least for now. That’s because Ellie will help him get better after he was stabbed, so he will live. In the game, Ellie spent weeks trying to find a way to help Joel, who got sick from his infected wound and had to be hospitalized.
Even though Joel got stabbed and hurt badly in episode 6, he lives through the rest of the story and has to face the Fireflies about what they had planned for Ellie. His injury also gives Ellie a chance to grow as a person and become a real daughter figure to Joel.

Even though there wasn’t much action in The Last of Us episode 6, it was clear that the whole episode was about how Joel and Ellie’s relationship grew. Even though Joel and Ellie may have been traveling together for months, they don’t know much about each other. Before the Cordyceps Brain Infection spread, Ellie didn’t even know that Joel had a daughter.
But in episode 6, they made a big step forward in their relationship, and things changed for the better. After finding Tommy in a small town near Jackson, Wyoming, Joel and Ellie had a fight about how long they would travel together. Even though Joel didn’t want to take her to the Fireflies because people who were close to him always got hurt, the teen girl felt safer with him.
Still, they both agreed that they liked being with each other, which is why they continued their journey together when they went to the University of Eastern Colorado, which Tommy said was a Firefly base. The two people traveled together for five days and got to know each other better. After that, they went to college.
Joel and Ellie looked for signs of the Fireflies, but they had already left the university, so they couldn’t find anything. But even though the Fireflies had left the base, there were still raiders on the property. And the two people had to leave as soon as possible on their horses, before the raiders found out they were there.
But before Joel and Ellie could leave the university, one of the raiders found them and attacked them. They were able to beat that raider, but Ellie later found out that Joel had been stabbed in the stomach. Ellie did everything she could to get Joel on the horse so they could run away.
Even though they were able to get away from the raiders, Joel fell off his horse because he was so weak from the stab wound. As the episode ended, Ellie was in a panic. So, in The Last of Us, is Joel dead?
In The Last of Us, Joel does not die. But what we’re talking about is the fact that the wound he got from the raiders doesn’t kill him. That means that his fate in the TV show hasn’t been decided yet, even though the wound he got from the raiders will heal.
In the game, Joel lived because Ellie tried to give him first aid for his wound. This meant that Joel was able to stay alive, but he was still sick because the infection on the wound caused problems. So, Ellie had to find penicillin so she could help Joel, who ended up getting better.
Did Joel Die In The Game?
We know that Joel’s story doesn’t end well in the video game series, but in the HBO version of The Last of Us, he will survive getting stabbed because his story hasn’t come to an end yet. In the first game, Joel lives through everything, but in the second game, he doesn’t.
In The Last of Us 2, Joel was captured and tortured by Abby, who was the daughter of one of the Fireflies that Joel killed in the first game. Abby, one of the characters you can play as in the second game, has spent her whole life trying to get revenge for the death of her father. And when she got hold of Joel, she was close to her goal.
Even though Ellie begged Abby to spare Joel, she used a golf club to hit Joel over the head and kill him. In this way, Joel does survive the events of the first game, but because Abby wants revenge, he never makes it past the second game.
In the HBO version of the story, there is a chance that Joel will live until the end of the first season. But if the live-action version stays true to the main storyline of the game, there’s a good chance that he will also die at some point, especially if Abby’s quest for revenge is going to be shown.
