Johnny Depp scores $20 million deal with Dior
Yes, it is what you read. Variety claims that the actor of A Nightmare on Elm Street has inked a huge $20 million contract with Dior. Brad Pitt, who is currently starring in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, once agreed to a $7 million agreement to advertise Chanel No. 5. Chris Pine, who played Don’t Worry Darling, received $4 million annually from Armani as part of a three-year contract.
For those of you who are unaware, let us inform you that while Johnny’s contract with Dior may be fresh, their relationship dates back a long time. Since 2015, he has been in advertising for the company’s Sauvage cologne.
Here’s all you need to know about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s trial
Last year, Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard fought for nearly a month in a Virginia courtroom. The jury found in Depp’s favour, and it was determined that Heard had defamed him by referring to herself in a 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post as “a public figure representing domestic abuse” who “felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out.”
The jury awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages at the conclusion of the trial, but the judge cut the punitive damages verdict to $350,000. Amber, on the other hand, received compensatory damages of $2 million.
Amber stated, “I defended my truth and in doing so, my life as I knew it was destroyed,” in a statement made following the settlement. When women come forward, they are [re-victimized] in ways that are compounded by the criticism I have received on social media.
“Now I have the chance to free myself from something I tried to leave over six years ago and on terms I can agree to,” she continued. I have not admitted anything. This is not a concession in any way. Moving ahead, there are no limitations or gags on my voice.
