Kim Kardashian has recently developed herself as a businesswoman and hasn’t shied away from many entrepreneurial opportunities. Now, after making a social media announcement, the star will be adding another accomplishment to her resume when she makes her acting comeback in Season 12 of FX’s American Horror Story.
Emma Roberts, a recurring cast member of AHS, returned, and Kim Kardashian teased the title of the upcoming episode of the anthology series: “Delicate.” Roberts’ uploading of the same video with the description “this summer… Kim and I are DELICATE” provided evidence for this. It’s safe to presume Delicate will at least somewhat relate to the season’s theme since Lady Gaga also disclosed Season 5’s title as Hotel along with her casting announcement.
While Kardashian has appeared on television before, most notably in the reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians in 2007, American Horror Story will mark the star’s most significant foray into acting. According to Variety, Kardashian will play a lead role in the series, a role “which was crafted specifically for her.” The reality star has a lot of smaller sitcom credits to her belt, including appearances on 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother, and 2 Broke Girls. She has also done some voice acting, and her most recent role was in 2021’s Paw Patrol: The Movie.
Ryan Murphy on Casting Kim Kardashian in American Horror Story Season 12
The Hollywood Reporter quoted the show’s creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy as saying, “We are happy to welcome Kim to the AHS family. Kim is among the greatest and brightest television personalities in the world. Emma and I are eager to work with this influential cultural force. Roberts made her American Horror Story debut in the 2013 episode Coven. She later returned for the 2014 episodes Freak Show, Cult, Apocalypse, and 1984. Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Lady Gaga, Frances Conroy, Lily Rabe, Katy Bates, Denis O’Hare, and Billie Lourd are some of the other AHS alums.
Although there isn’t a specific air date yet, Roberts’ post suggests a summertime window for release. The showrunner of the series will be Halley Fieffer, who wrote American Horror Story and Impeachment: American Crime Story. According to Murphy, Fieffer “has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role, especially for Kim,” hinting that “this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
