BMF Lamar Twist : Eric Kofi Abrefa Casts Light On The Season Finale

  • DCS

Following the startling conclusion of season one, BMF actor Eric Kofi Abrefa says he views “all of the hate” for his character Lamar Silas “as a praise” to his work.

Lamar found himself on the receiving end of someone’s violent retaliation after weeks of infuriating fans to the point where they would frequently demand for his death on social media when he was shot by Demetrius “Meech” Flenory (Demetrius Flenory Jr, playing his father).

When reflecting on the fan response to the fictitious drug dealer, Abrefa told TV Line: “I looked at it as all love for people to ask, ‘Why is Lamar still here?’ and say they hated me every Sunday, that they wished Lamar would die.

He continued, “I didn’t adore my role, but I liked him. I had sympathy for him and understood why he did what he did.

Whether or not his devotion made sense to other people, I liked him and the things he was passionate about. He was intensely concentrated on whatever he had committed himself in. And even though she wasn’t his, his love for Zoe gave him depth. Lamar was a multifaceted person.

BMF, commonly known as Black Mafia Family, is a Starz programme that is produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson of Power.

Da’vinchi portrays Terry Flenory, and Lil Meech portrays Demtrius Flenory.

The plot of the show is partially based on the experiences of Terry and Demetrius, two brothers who founded one of the most powerful crime families in US history with their business savvy and charismatic leadership.

Lamar appeared to bleed out as he writhed around on the ground, but his dead body didn’t actually show up on screen, leading some to speculate that Abrefa would return after all. A second season has already been confirmed.

BMF is shown on Starz in the US and is streamed on Starzplay in the UK, which is accessible through Amazon Prime Video.
