Remembering Linda Richins: A Tribute to Her Life and Legacy

  • DCS

The obituary for Linda Richins underlines both her significant contributions to education and her unwavering dedication to moulding young minds.

Linda Kay Carter Richins was a strong advocate for living each day to the fullest. On March 26, 2018, she passed away in the calm beauty of Kauai, Hawaii, surrounded by her devoted family.

Her capacity to love without conditions and see the best in everyone defined Linda. Her exceptional trajectory was distinguished by her steadfast commitment to study and her self-described status as a lifelong learner.

Linda’s success in school was evidence of her love of learning. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of Utah before going on to Utah State University for her Master’s in Psychology.

She obtained a second Master’s degree in education administration from Utah State as a result of her insatiable curiosity.

Linda was a born leader who had a significant impact on the educational landscape.

Linda loved the little pleasures in life in addition to her career.

She had an unmistakable passion for singing, dancing, and relaxing with her cherished Yorkies. Her heart belonged to her family beyond all else, though.

Linda was the life of the party because of her contagious grin and contagious charm. She had the amazing capacity to shine light into each space she entered.

With her warmth and kindness, Linda improved the lives she touched and made an enduring impression.

Edith and Norman Coxon, Linda’s grandparents, and her father Charles Carter died before her.

She is survived by Eugene F. Richins, her devoted spouse of almost 40 years, who was by her side no matter what.

The memory of Linda will always be cherished by her children, Eric Eugene Richins, Katie Lin Richins-Benson, and Amy Joan Richins.

Her dedicated mother Joan Carter and her sister Lori Carter Anderson carry on her legacy.

The lives of Linda’s grandchildren, Carter Brock Richins, Ashton E. Richins, Weston Horace Richins, Madalin Richins Benson, and the upcoming birth of Baby Girl Benson in September, all reflect her bright brightness.

Linda Richins’ funeral services were performed in the Henefer Chapel in Henefer, Utah, on Saturday, April 7.

During visitations at the church on Friday from 6 to 8 o’clock and on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., prior to the services, many people shared their warm memories of Linda.

The Henefer Cemetery, a peaceful setting that mirrors the serenity Linda contributed to other people’s lives, is where Linda is laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for contributions to the Clayton Middle School of the Salt Lake Education Foundation. Donations should be sent to 440 East 100 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84111, with the memo line “Clayton Middle School.”

Through these gifts, Linda’s lifelong commitment to education will continue to have an effect on future generations.
