The MCU’s endgame was essentially unknown when it first began. Viewers had previously witnessed powerful antagonists like Abomination or the ruthless businessman Obadiah Stane, but neither matched the enraged antagonist of Thor’s Loki. In the early MCU films, there were two distinct types of villains: those who coveted power and those who abused it once they had it. The first bad guy to combine the two was Loki. He was an Asgardian prince who had been taken by Odin from the Frost Giants, and after learning this, he and his adopted father and sibling engaged in combat. The audience was moved by Loki’s terrible tale, but Tom Hiddleston stole the night.
The actor would poetically depict Loki as a tragic anti-hero who harboured a profound desire to be loved and recognised during interviews. Along with wanting Loki to triumph in the MCU, fans also yearned for a standalone movie about him. With the MCU’s new directions for Disney+ programmes focusing on certain characters like Hawkeye, She-Hulk, and Loki, their prayers had been heard. Fans were left wondering where Loki had gone after Avengers: Endgame, which is where the series Loki picks up. Once Thanos was defeated, Loki exposed us to additional variations, some of which were performed by Hiddleston and others by Sophia Di Martino. He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), the MCU’s upcoming formidable antagonist, was also unveiled. In the latter part of 2023’s summer, Disney+ will debut Loki Season 2.
Eugene Cordero as Casey
Because Loki stole the Tesseract, which contains one of the infinity stones, the TVA managed to apprehend him. The Tesseract was given to Casey, an agent collecting evidence, by the TVA hunter who captured Loki (Eugene Cordero). Loki tries to take the Tesseract back, but Casey is oblivious of its significance. As the timeline was thrown off, Casey’s role as a TVA hunter became clear. For Season 2, Casey from Cordero has reportedly been upgraded to a series regular, according to Games Rader.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Judge Ravonna Renslayer
The Holy Timeline is safeguarded by the Time Variance Authority. A variant that is introduced must be evaluated and pruned, which is equivalent to sending a variant to the void. Ravonna Renslayer is one of the judges and major decision-makers for the TVA (Gugu Mbatha-Raw). Loki and Mobius get the short end of the stick for trying to topple the TVA. According to Mbatha-Raw, who discussed this in an interview with GQ, the character, like many others in the Loki series, had murky intentions, and she attached an essential oil smell to them.
Jonathan Majors as He Who Remains / Kang
He Who Remains, also known as Kang, is the last boss in the Loki series and is voiced by Jonathan Majors. He tells Loki and Sylvie that he built the TVA to prevent timeline versions from annihilating one another. Kang and Val, the director of the CIA, have been the main antagonists in the MCU since the season finale. In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Kang served as the major enemy and revealed the existence of a Council of Kangs, who may appear in Loki season 2 in the future.
Kate Dickie (Unknown Villain)
Kate Dickie will play yet another new character that will be revealed in Season 2. The Playlist claims that although Dickie’s role is unclear, they will be a villain. She is well-known for her parts in Tinseltown and Game of Thrones.
Ke Huy Quan as Oursboros
In Season 2, there are three new characters introduced, but we don’t know the identities of two of them. One of the new characters in the series, Ouroboros, is being portrayed by Ke Huy Quan. According to Tech Radar, Ouroboros is the TVA’s go-to tech expert.
Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius
Agent Mobius of the TVA is in charge of questioning variations, according to owen-wilson-lokiMarvel Studios. He is committed to the TVA and their goal of upholding the schedule. The agent that keeps an eye on the Loki variations and reveals to them their predetermined future is named Mobius (Owen Wilson). Despite having avoided his predestined timeline, Loki from 2012 is overwhelmed with youthful conceit and fails to recognise the flaw in his own. Despite Loki’s haughtiness, Mobius starts to believe in him and ultimately assists Loki and Sylvie in fleeing. Due to the timeline gap, Mobius does not recognise Loki when he meets him and believes he is a different TVA agent.
Rafael Casal (Unknown)
Rafael Casal will take on the role of the second season’s third new character. Despite being a significant character in the show, Casal’s character is unknown, according to Collider. He is well-known for co-producing the Starz network television series Blindspotting with Daveed Diggs.
Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie
Since she was a little child, Sylvie, a female Loki variation, has been a prisoner of the TVA. She wants to overthrow the TVA because she was one of the first TVA variations to be imprisoned. Despite having a low opinion of everyone, especially a Loki version, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), consents to let Loki accompany her on her quest to find He Who Remains. She develops feelings for Loki when they are on their voyage to the end of time. When time runs out, she must decide whether to kill He Who Remains or leave him alive.
Tara Strong as Miss Minutes
There have been some crazy plots in the Disney+ MCU series, but Loki is the only one that combine animation and live-action. He Who Remains produced Miss Minutes (Tara Strong), an animated clock with a retro aesthetic. Anyone seeking information may or may not be correct because He Who Remains wants to keep his identity a mystery, and she was made to serve He Who Remains. During season 2, Strong will reprise her role as Miss Minutes.
Tom Hiddleston as Loki
The first anti-hero to have his own television series was The God of Mischief and King of Asgard, even though he was posing as Odin. Tom Hiddleston will return to his 2012 Loki variation role. He discovered he will be killed by Thanos after Asgard was wiped out during Season 1. He encountered Sylvie, a lady Loki, whom he grew to be great friends with, and she led him on a quest to topple the TVA. Loki returns to the TVA after Season 1 to find himself in a different universe.
