The latest trailer for the upcoming horror film “M3GAN” features Allison Williams as Gemma, a roboticist who works for a toy company, and depicts artificial friendship as a nightmare. She is at a loss for how to help her newly adopted niece, whose parents recently passed away, so she introduces her to M3GAN, a robot toy designed to be the ideal friend and the latest creation of her company. M3GAN, however, is not even close to being a dream come true.
Bella Poarch’s “Dolls” serves as the soundtrack to M3GAN’s spooky antics in the new haunting trailer, which was unveiled on December 7. The killer doll rampages through the trailer to the tune of M3GAN’s viral dance from the trailer from October 11, which has since become an internet meme. Gerard Johnstone is the film’s director, and Akela Cooper wrote the screenplay. It is made by two titans of the horror genre, James Wan and Jason Blum.
A technological twist on the well-known horror film trope of possessed dolls can be found in “M3GAN.” Among the most well-known examples of the genre are the movies “Child’s Play,” “Annabelle,” “The Boy,” and “Dolls.” M3GAN also has a passing resemblance to the spooky Renesmee doll made for the Twilight films thanks to her large, unsettling eyes.
