We’re about to start a new season of The Masked Singer, which means there will be new costumes to excessively overexamine. EW will compile all the mythological, magical, humorous, and occasionally genuinely spooky costumes here when Fox reveals the new garments that will be masking the celebrity contestants.
In order to find out if you “know EXACTLY who this is,” click through. Then, starting with the season 9 debut on February 15, check in to Fox every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT to see if you’re correct.
Gnome
Who is this, do you gnome? We don’t either, however this costume seems like it might cover up several individuals, as in Beach B all from season 6? Another fictional character, similar to Snail from season 5? Time will reveal…
Mustang
This outfit now appears to be a genuine dark horse in the competition. This outfit is itching to add some heat to the Masked Singer competition with its leather, chains, flaming embellishments, and sassy pose to go with those boots.
Medusa
This outfit is hard to look away from with its all-over snake appendages, elegant clothing, and seductive teal colour. Which, if you are familiar with Greek mythology, is unfortunate.
Rock Lobster
This one raises some questions for us. B-52s, are you there? Does this imply that a Country Lobster exists somewhere else as well? perhaps a Pop Lobster? In either case, this crustacean is dressed for rock and roll with its studded waistcoat and black leather pants. Just let’s hope that with all that pressure, it doesn’t boil.
Night Owl
Early risers beware: this costume is prepared to dominate the competition and isn’t hesitant to work late hours to accomplish its goals. With its black accents, this majestic white bird resembles the Snow Owls from season 4 but seems more prepared to face the witching hour.
Polar Bear
This costume is equipped with a trendy jumpsuit, goggles, and Converse to be ready for the hustle and floe—ice floe, that is. On the stage of The Masked Singer, they have enormous shoes to fill: Previous ursine competitors include Miss Teddy from season 7 and Bear (Sarah Palin) from season 3. (Jennifer Holiday).
Squirrel
This fuzzy monster is less like the constant tormentor of neighbourhood dogs that we are used to seeing it as thanks to its brilliant blue face mask and stylish costume. However, this outfit is undoubtedly one to go bananas about with that large bushy tail and the little acorns sewn onto its vest.
