Megan Ferguson, a former cast member of Curb Your Enthusiasm, has joined the cast of HBO Max’s Gossip Girl remake.
The comedy, which will premiere on the WarnerMedia-owned streaming service on July 8, will include a character named Wendy; specifics of Ferguson’s part weren’t immediately known. The new Gossip Girl follows a different cast of characters than the 2007–12 CW series, but it takes place in the same Upper East Side of Manhattan environment of luxury and riches.
Joshua Safran, the show’s creator, and Ferguson have worked together before; Ferguson was a regular on Safran’s Netflix series Soundtrack, which debuted in late 2019.
Ferguson portrayed Alice, Larry (Larry Davidassistant, )’s in the most current Curb Your Enthusiasm season. She has also appeared in episodes of Casual on Hulu, The Comedians on FX, and the films The Broken Hearts Gallery and The Disaster Artist. Artists First and Imprint represent her.
Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak, and Savannah Lee Smith are also part of the Gossip Girl cast. As Gossip Girl’s voice and the show’s narrator, Kristen Bell will return.
Safran, who worked on the original Gossip Girl as an executive producer and writer, co-creates the show with Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz under the Fake Empire banner, and Alloy Entertainment’s Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo. Produced by Warner Bros. TV, CBS Studios, and Alloy Entertainment, Fake Empire’s Lis Rowinski is a co-EP.
