South Korean Pop Boy Group Monsta X performs under the banner of Starship Entertainment. The band made its debut in May 2015. Currently, there are 6 people in the group: Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M. ( Wonho left the group in October 2019). From February 2019, Monsta X is a part of the US label Maverick Agency. The group came together as a result of a survival reality show.
Recently, Wonho (also known as Lee Ho-Seok) departed the group due to social media controversy around his use of drugs when he was younger. Six people remain in the group after Wonho’s departure. Make them known to us.
Monsta X Member Profile: Hyungwon

Chae Hyung-won, also known as Hyungwon, was born in Gwangju, South Korea, on January 15, 1994. Under the alias DJ H.ONE, he performs as a DJ. He worked as a fashion model for a number of well-known firms in South Korea before making his Monsta X debut.
Hyungwon received high accolades for his performance in K.Will’s “You Call It Romance” music video in 2016. Hungwon made his acting debut in the KBS2 programme “Please Find Her” in 2017.
DJ H.ONE was Hyungwon’s stage moniker when he first began his career as a DJ. His debut song, which also included Jooheon from Monsta X, was a joint effort with DJ Justin Oh. Its title was “BAM!BAM!BAM!” Many more partnerships came after this.
Hyungwon concentrated on songwriting and composition in 2020. He helped with the composition of the track “Nobody Else” for Monsta X’s album.
Monsta X Member Profile: I.M

I.M is a different Monsta X rapper, singer, and songwriter. Im Chang-Kyun is his birth name (Korean: ). On October 6, 1994, he was born in Gwangju, South Korea. He did, however, spend a substantial amount of time in Boston and Israel. He speaks English exceptionally well because his father was a Harvard University physicist.
I.M was a member of the boy band Nu’bility in 2013 and 2014, both under the management of Special K Entertainment. Although the group participated in numerous activities and events, Nu’bility never had its public debut. Additionally, he took part in the survival programme No Mercy. He joined Monsta X, a Starship Entertainment band, much later than his fellow members.
He produced records for Monsta X, as was previously noted, and in 2016 he also released his debut mixtape. Yeseo is featured in the tracks, which were posted to Starship Entertainment’s YouTube channel. “Who am I?” is how it was titled. Along with the lead single “Horizon” featuring ELHAE, he also released another error. The B-side of the single, “Scent,” was made public.
He also read audiobooks for Naver Audio, one of which was The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde. In 2020, he once more worked with ELHAE to produce the song “Need To Know.” He committed to releasing songs in 2021 and has been working on his own projects. His mixtape, “Duality,” is meant to be an extended play.

On October 6, 1994, Lee Joo-Heon (also known as JooHeon and better known by his stage name Joohoney) was born. In the K-pop group Monsta X, he performs as both the rapper and the songwriter.
Before making her Monsta X debut, Joohoney was a member of the Nu Boyz project group. Starship Entertainment organised the Nu Boyz programme. Among all the Starship trainees, he was the best rapper. On Starship Entertainment’s Youtube page, he posted a number of mixtapes. In December 2014, he participated in the Starship X concert’s opening performance.
He worked with Sistar’s Hyolyn and San E on the song “Coach Me,” which was released by him.
In addition, Joohoney and Kihyun took part in the creation of the drama Orange Marmalade’s original music. He was among the youngest producers at the 2016 JTBC Hip-hop competition. In 2016, he also made a solo music video for the song “Rhythm.” In 2019 he changes his name from Jooheon to JooHoney in order to pursue his English songwriting endeavours.
In order to concentrate on his mental health, JooHoney took a vacation from Monsta X in 2020. He returned to support the Korean release of Fantasia X by Monsta X.
Monsta X Member Profile: KiHyun
Yoo Ki-hyun (also known as Kihyun) was born in Goyang, South Korea, on November 22, 1993. He is Monsta X’s best vocalist. His Japanese-born elder sibling resides in Japan. Dong’Ah Institute of Media and Arts is where he is known to have graduated from. He contributes to songwriting and lyric writing. He co-wrote the song “Pillow” with Sistar’s Soyou & Giri boy while he was a contestant on Mnet’s survival show, No mercy. In May 2015, Monsta X’s Kihyun and Jooheon created the “Attractive Woman” television soundtrack for KBS2’s Orange Marmalade. In 2017, he also released a solo song for television. For dramas like What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, Partners of Justice, Suspicious Partner, and others, KiHyun created original soundtracks. He contributed to the songwriting for the album “All About Luv.”
Minhyuk, also known as Lee Min Hyuk, is Monsta X’s backup vocalist and visual. On November 3, 1993, he was born in Gwangju, South Korea. He has an older brother as a sibling. He took part in Mnet’s survival programme No Mercy in 2014, which aided in his acceptance into Monsta X. The group’s final verified member, he was a part of it.
He is the group’s most vivacious and outgoing member. He tries to maintain the members’ happiness. He is the group’s visual, and he has acknowledged that his lips give him the most self-assurance.
He made his musical debut with Monsta X’s debut album, Trespass. They released The Clan Pt. 2.5: The Final Chapter, their debut studio album. 2018 saw the Japanese debut of Monsta X, who also released tracks there. In 2020, the trio also made its English album available.
He performed as a soloist as well, and in January 2019 he released the mixtape single “” (“Ongsimi”). The mixtape was made available on Starship Entertainment’s YouTube channel. Alongside Naeun of April and Jaehyun of NCT, he also served as an emcee at SBS Inkigayo in 2019 and 2020. It was broadcast every Sunday.
Three songs on Monsta X’s sixth album, All About Luv, are credited to Lee.
Monsta X Member Profile: Shownu
The frontman, primary dancer, and lead vocalist of Monsta X is Shownu (). Sohn Hyun Woo is his real name, and Shownu is his stage name. Since he was born on June 18, 1992, Gemini is his zodiac sign. He was the sole kid in his family when he was born in Changdong, Donbonggu, Seoul, South Korea. He doesn’t have any siblings. He began his career at JYP entertainment as a trainee. In the same 2009 auditions, he took first place. He received recognition for his excellent dancing, but he was unable to stick with JYP Entertainment for more than two years.
Shownu was initially scheduled to make his debut with GOT 7, but reports say he was forced to depart due to absenteeism from training. He spoke of feeling stuck and having disagreements with the business. Shownu persisted in the idol business, and in Lee Hyori’s music videos for “Bad Girls,” “Going Crazy,” and “U-Go-Girl,” he appeared as a backup dancer.
He eventually went to Starship Entertainment for an audition and was accepted into the NUBOYZ project, which paved the way for him to join Monsta X. He and other future Monsta X members were involved in the NUBOYZ project. Along with the other six Monsta X members, Shownu took part in Mnet’s survival competition “No Mercy” in December 2014. So, following that, all seven candidates made their Starship Entertainment debuts as Monsta X.
The majority of the Monsta X choreographies feature Shownu. He has taken part in solo performances in a number of variety events ever since making his stage debut as the band’s leader, lead dancer, and vocalist. He participated in Lipstick Prince as a regular cast member for two seasons in a row, and after winning the competition, he received a television ad. More variety and reality shows had him as a participant. Additionally, he has posted a tonne of choreography for songs by well-known artists including Ariana Grande, Charli Puth, Weeknd, and others.
Despite having undergone numerous operations and injuries, Shownu still performs beautifully. He served as a judge on a Mnet programme in November 2020. Shownu is slated to appear in the March 2021 season of the Netflix series Goedam 2.
