Nickelodeon’s All That: Where the Cast is Today

  • DCS

Nickelodeon ran the sketch comedy series All That from 1994 through 2005. It functioned as a younger audience’s equivalent of Saturday Night Living since it featured brief comedic sketches and regular musical guests. “Ask Ashley,” “Nice Burger,” and “Detective Dan” were a few of the show’s notable sketches. For its cast, script, and influence on children’s television, All That got high accolades. Many of the cast members, including Amanda Bynes, Kenan Thompson, and Nick Cannon, used it as a launching pad.

A couple of the original cast members made a brief return when All That made a brief revival series appearance in 2019. What have all of the original cast members been up to since the end of the show’s initial run, to speak of, some years ago?

Alisa Reyes

Despite the fact that she didn’t have many of her own sketches, Alisa Reyes appeared on All That for seasons one through three. She is probably most recognized for her role as KiKi in the “Island Girls” skit. As LaCienega Boulevardez in The Proud Family and its Disney+ revival series, The Proud Family: Prouder and Louder, she voiced over for Disney Channel after leaving All That. ER, NYPD Blue, American Family, Six Feet Under, and Boston Public are just a few of the shows in which Reyes has made appearances. She was a DJ for Playboy Radio as well, and she joined All That again for the 2019 remake.

Amanda Bynes

As a young actor for season three of All That in 1996, Amanda Bynes remained with the program until the year 2000. She was recognized for sketches like “Ask Ashley” and is one of the most well-liked cast members. She even had her own independent sketch comedy program called The Amanda Show, which had a structure very similar to All That.

After All That, Bynes appeared in several films, mostly in the 2000s, such as She’s the Man, What a Girl Wants, Robots, Hairspray, Big Fat Liar, and Easy A. Bynes, who has long been interested in fashion design, also holds a degree in merchandising from Irvine, California’s Fashion College of Design. Bynes has been under scrutiny more lately for her issues with substance misuse and mental illness. In 2013, a temporary conservatorship over her affairs was awarded to her parents; it expired in 2022. In March of this year, she was supposed to participate in an All That panel at ’90s Con in Connecticut, but she was unable to travel because she had been put on a 72-hour psychiatric hold after having a “psychotic episode.”

Angelique Bates

On seasons one and two of All That, Angelique Bates was a cast member, but she doesn’t play as many memorable characters as some of the other actors. She is probably best remembered for her role as Mandy in the comedy routine “Cooking with Randy & Mandy”. Bates was the first original cast member to depart the program, but she has kept in touch with her All That co-stars Alisa Reyes and Katrina Johnson. At one point, the three of them even collaborated on a comedy sketch for YouTube. Bates also made a surprise appearance in the 100th episode special. Bates briefly worked as a hip-hop musician under the name Alizay in the music industry.

Danny Tamberelli

For seasons four through six of All That, Danny Tamberelli replaced him, having previously been on The Adventures of Pete & Pete. Tamberelli played a prominent role in the memorable comedy “Fat Cop” and “Important Knowledge,” replacing Lori Beth Denberg. In addition to All That, Tamberelli has a musical background as the bassist in the New Jersey band Jounce. Together with co-star Michael Maronna from The Adventures of Pete & Pete, he co-hosted the podcast The Adventures of Danny and Mike. Tamberelli further had appearances in a number of shows and movies, such as The Amanda Show, The Baby-Sitters Club, and The Mighty Ducks.

Josh Server

Josh Server has been a part of the cast of All That for the most seasons, six to be exact. The two most well-known characters on Server are Detective Dan and Earboy. Following All That, he co-starred in the website Laugh Out Loud in 2006 with fellow All That cast member Kenan Thompson. He also hosted a season of Nickelodeon’s Oh Yeah! Cartoons in 2000. Several other Nickelodeon programs have included Server, such as Drake & Josh, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, Sam & Cat, The Amanda Show, and Kenan & Kel. Together with his fellow All That cast members, he has also appeared in films including 1997’s Good Burger, Wild ‘n Out, several Comic Conventions, and the 2019 revival of All That.

Kel Mitchell

The second-longest-serving cast member, Kel Mitchell, appeared in all five seasons of the program. He was frequently partnered with Kenan Thompson, which is how the Kenan & Kel spin-off series came to be. He is well recognized for his appearances in the “Good Burger” and “Repairman” sketches.

Following All That, Mitchell starred in the successful Good Burger film and shared television roles with Kenan Thompson on a number of occasions, including Sister, Sister and The Steve Harvey Show. He competed as a celebrity on Dancing with the Stars in 2019 and came in second. He most recently collaborated with Thompson on a “Kenan & Kelly” sketch for Saturday Night Live and went back to his Nickelodeon origins by serving as executive producer for the 2019 All That revival.

Kenan Thompson

From season one through season five, Kenan Thompson appeared on All That. In memorable sketches like “Pierre Escargot” and “Mavis and Clavis,” he took on a variety of roles. He frequently collaborated with Kel Mitchell, and as a result, they had a successful career together in the spin-off series Kenan & Kel and the vintage film Good Burger.

On All That, Thompson truly came into his own, went on to have a hugely successful career, and is now well-known. He has appeared in other films since All That, including Fat Albert, and has been a cast member of Saturday Night Live since 2003, making him the show’s oldest cast member. Most recently, he made a cameo appearance and served as executive producer for All That’s 2019 revival season.

Katrina Johnson

Until Amanda Bynes joined the cast of All That in the third season, Katrina Johnson was the show’s youngest cast member from seasons one through three. The Lemonade Scammer and her portrayal of H. Ross Perot in the ‘Earboy’ sketches are two of Johnson’s most well-known characters. Johnson returned to All That for both the 10th anniversary special and the 100th episode special. Johnson started working as a corporate flight attendant after All That and now documents her trips on Instagram. She also runs the Guilty Pleasures podcast on Uncensored Radio.

Lori Beth Denberg

Being the eldest cast member on All That from season one through season four, Lori Beth Denberg, who was 18 when the show debuted, frequently played adult roles in sketches. She is most known for her drawings “The Crucial Information” and “Loud Librarian.” From 1997 to 1998, she participated as a panelist on the Nickelodeon game program Figure It Out.

Following All That, Denberg has been in a number of films and television programs, including Malcolm in the Middle, Workaholics, and Wild ‘n Out. He also had a recurring role on The Steve Harvey Show. She most recently participated in the seventh celebrity season of the reality competition series Worst Chefs in America. She has also made cameos in the All That reboot’s comedy sketches.

Nick Cannon

Prior to joining All That as a cast member in season five, Nick Cannon served as an emcee, keeping the audience entertained while the actors changed into various costumes and scenes. Cannon gained notoriety in “The Spice Boys” and “The Inconvenience Shop” segments while a cast member of the program. Similar to Amanda Bynes, he also had his own All That spin-off program, The Nick Cannon Show.

Cannon has had a long career both on and off the screen outside of his time on Nickelodeon. He has a long history of presenting TV programs, including Wild ‘n Out, America’s Got Talent, and The Masked Singer. Along with appearing on sitcoms like Kenan & Kel, The Eric Andre Show, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, he also acted in the popular film Drumline.
