Air Trailer: Matt Damon is Determined to Unite Michael Jordan and Nike
In the teaser, Matt Damon plays Sonny Vaccaro, a big-dreamer who aspires to work with Michael Jordan, the legendary basketball player who was just beginning his career in the NBA. The video depicts what transpired behind closed doors as Vaccaro presented his concept to Phil Knight, a co-founder of Nike who is portrayed by Affleck.
The trailer also discusses how Deloris Jordan, the mother of Michael Jordan, was crucial to the success of the transaction. When Vaccaro finally recommends the moniker “Air Jordan” for the new shoe line, Knight responds with a humorous quip.
On April 5, Air will be seen in theatres. In contrast to the studio’s prior theatrical releases, which were streamed within a few weeks, the movie won’t be available on Amazon Prime Video for a few months. Check out the intriguing trailer below.
The Film will Focus on the Deal that Made Nike a Global Brand
“From award-winning direc tor Ben Affleck, AIR reveals the unbelievable game-changing partnership between a then rookie Michael Jordan and Nike’s fledgling basketball division which revolutionised the world of sports and contemporary culture with the Air Jordan brand,” according to the official synopsis of the film.
The statement continues, “This stirring drama follows the life-changing gamble of an unorthodox team with everything on the line, the unwavering vision of a mother who realises the value of her son’s incredible talent, and the basketball phenom who would become the greatest of all time.

The movie will also feature Jason Bateman as Rob Strasser, Chris Messina as David Falk, Marlon Wayans as George Raveling, Chris Tucker as Howard White, Viola Davis as Deloris Jordan, Matthew Maher as Peter Moore, Tom Papa as Stu Inman, Julius Tennon as James R. Jordan Sr., and Joel Gretsch as John O’Neil in addition to Affleck and Damon.
Gustaf Skarsgrd plays Horst Dassler, Kathy Dassler is played by Barbara Sukowa, Katrina Sainz is played by Jessica Green, and Richard is played by Dan Bucatinsky. Michael Jordan isn’t in the movie anymore, though. Produced by Affleck, Damon, David Ellison, Jason Michael Berman, Jeff Robinov, and Peter Guber, Air was written by Alex Convery.
After School Ties (1992), Good Will Hunting (1997), Dogma (1999), Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back (2000), Jay & Silent Bob Reboot (2019), and The Last Duel, Air is Affleck and Damon’s seventh film together (2021). Affleck has never before helmed a film starring Damon, his closest friend and frequent collaborator.
