Why Do Fans Think Oscar De La Hoya Got Fake Abs?

Oscar De La Hoya is no stranger to crazy images, as anyone who has followed his career would attest. Most recently, when he uploaded a shirtless beach shot to Instagram, he generated some discussion.

Fans began to question the boxer’s abs, as you could infer from the title. The doubt is understandable considering that, even in his heyday, Oscar never had this amount of ab definition.

“How did you locate your doctor? Nice ab job, huh?” questioned a commenter with dubious sincerity.

Another person said, “It’s called lipo.”

Just by glancing at the picture, it’s difficult to determine how he acquired his new abs. Thankfully, we can stop speculating.

Following up on his initial post, Oscar wrote that he had “spent much too much money for these abs to ever wear a shirt again.”

His fiancée Holly Sonders added support for the boxer, who is now compelled to remain shirtless, by stating that he had ab etching rather than ab implants.

What is the difference between ab etching and implants?

Using micro-targeted liposuction procedures, ab etching removes extra fat from the waist. By tightening the skin and reducing the fat that conceals the muscle, this ideally shapes and highlights the ab muscles. The abs are real; they’re just no longer hidden by bothersome fat. This is most effective on someone who has made every effort to lose weight but still has persistent belly fat. Oscar is a fantastic candidate for ab etching because he is in decent shape for his age.

Contrarily, abdominal implant surgery involves inserting real silicone into the ab area to produce a “six-pack” or “eight-pack.” While less frequent, ab implants are comparable to a woman getting silicone implants to enlarge her breasts.

You can see a person’s true ab muscles using ab etching. You notice silicone in the form of ABS when you get implants. Some people might perceive etching to be more socially acceptable while others could believe implants to be completely ludicrous.

Oscar is not the only boxer to enhance their abs

Marcos Maidana, a former Argentine professional boxer, appeared to have retired after suffering consecutive defeats to Floyd Mayweather in 2014. Fans thought that Maidana was merely enjoying his retirement and the millions he had won from the two fights, and that losing to Floyd was nothing to be embarrassed of. The fact that Maidana gained weight during his “retirement” made a comeback all the less likely.

However, Maidana’s announcement that he wanted to fight again stunned the boxing community. Since he is back in preparation, his figure has been more streamlined, and admirers have been quick to assume that he has had his abs etched. However, these findings were never verified, and numerous sites have made an effort to refute these assertions. We may give Maidana the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

With boxing legends, this is most certainly an unexpected trend. Will Tyson Fury’s next fight have some saggy abs? At least De La Hoya seemed pleased with the way the procedure went. Perhaps these “fake abs” ought to win an Oscar for their work.

Final question: Could silicone ab implants protect against a gut punch?
