The “Persona” video games have been available for a while. Despite the fact that the series is technically a “Shin Megami Tensei” offshoot, it has established a reputation for itself over the years because to its engaging plots and expansive game universe. The most recent mainstream game in the series, “Persona 5,” experienced astounding success, with Atlus’ 2021 financial reports revealing that the title had sold over 1.5 million copies on its own (via Gematsu). A staggering 15 million copies of the series’ games have been sold overall.
There has been speculation among the series’ viewers regarding “Persona 5’s” official sequel. Despite the game’s 2016 release, there hasn’t been much information made public regarding the upcoming game in the series. In reality, the fact that the game is being developed has pretty much been established. A job posting for a “Persona 6” gaming team was translated by Persona Central in 2017. Later, the director of “Persona 5,” Daiki Ito, said in a 2019 interview with the same website that the production team had ideas for the following game. While some “Persona 6” fans are deciding what they want to see in the game, others are making predictions on when it might be announced and hopefully delivered.
