Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, a new comedy series from Peacock, was just published. Following Bumper, who travels to Berlin in the hopes of resurrecting his career after his cover of 99 Red Balloons goes popular on German TikTok, the show is a spin-off of the film series Pitch Perfect.
The show’s six-episode debut season has many hilarious moments and a shocking cliffhanger. When the show will return for its second season is now a question on fans’ minds. But will season 2 of Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin be released? Find out by reading on.
Peacock has not yet decided to renew Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin for a second season. Fans need not panic, though, as it is still too early to predict the show’s future. Just like Netflix, Peacock will take into account ratings and viewership before renewing the show. The first season of the show was just just published.
Although the slapstick comedy has received positive reviews, viewership data has not yet been made public, making it impossible to confirm the show’s renewal at this time. A second season will be necessary at the very least to wrap up all the open-ended stories because the first season of the show ended on a cliffhanger.
In a recent interview, the show’s creator and executive producer Megan Amram discussed their intentions for season 2 and said, “That’s my method of forcing a Season 2, you have to do a Season 2 to see what happens. I mean, everything is possible.
“I would like a Season 2,” the viewer said. I have a few suggestions. Hopefully, this would be its own tiny restricted story with these characters if there wasn’t a Season 2. We’ll see, she continued.
The second season’s premiere date cannot yet be determined because the show has not been formally renewed. The show’s first season was announced in September 2021, and production got underway in March 2022.
Between its announcement and release, the show took more than a year. Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin should return by the end of 2023 if the new season is approved in the following weeks and if the previous season’s performance is any indication.
In the second season, Sarah Hyland is anticipated to return in her previous role as Heidi. If the programme is renewed for a second season, Megan mentioned that Hyland might be involved and added, “That is totally my aim.”
“The ensemble is this show’s really beating heart. Therefore, I would want to make sure that all of the characters are interacting. The showrunner also made a suggestion that a few actors from the movie series might be reprising their roles in the TV show.
Since Bumper and Amy haven’t seen each other in a while, Megan said, “I’m interested to see how they interact now. Along with Hyland, the other stars of the show, including Damon DeVine as Bumper, Lera Abova as Thea, Flula Borg as Pieter, and Jameela Jamil as Gisela, are anticipated to make a comeback.
