Another budding talent in the hip-hop scene has passed away. The rapper 26Ceejay passed away on March 30. The rapper, who was reportedly in his mid-20s, was shot dead inside his car, and gasoline was used to set the car on fire.
26Ceejay began releasing his solo music last year after leaving Kodak Black’s gang. His murder was reported only a few hours after BTB Savage, another young rapper, was shot and killed in Houston on the same day. To learn more about 26Ceejay’s life and terrible passing, keep reading.
26Ceejay Shot Dead, Set to Fire in Florida
Around 6:10 am on March 30th, the event occurred in the rapper’s home county of Broward in Pampano Beach, Florida. Residents of the area reported hearing gunshots coming from the area, and about 30 minutes later, there was an explosion. Ceejay’s body was discovered in the car’s backseat, thoroughly charred.
It is still unclear if the rapper perished in the fire or from gunshot wounds. The attackers’ identities are still unknown, and authorities have not yet apprehended them. The reason for the murder is still a mystery. The Broward Sheriff’s Office is currently looking into the matter.
After a few years of service in Kodak Black’s crew, 26Ceejay launched his own musical career in July 2022 with the release of his debut album. The rapper gained more than 12k Instagram followers as a result of the King Kobra EP, which had over 64k views on YouTube. He uploaded a song called Sweet Love to Spotify earlier this year.
DEAD FRIENDZ, 26Ceejay’s most recent song, was released in February of this year. With the caption “Been trying to stay away from music but My lil brotherZ got me do it DEAD FRIENDZ!! OUT NOW!!,” he teased the release of the song.
The rapper’s age isn’t formally recorded. Yet, the name of his YouTube channel, “26CeeJay98,” gives away the possibility that he was born in 1998, putting him 24 at the time of his passing.
The Rapper’s Friends Pay their Tributes
The hip-hop community was shocked to learn of 26Ceejay’s passing. Some of his professional pals have also paid tribute to the rapper on social media. Rapper Benji Flex commented, “Rest Up to My Dawg Ceejay I wish dis never happened to you bra we were thuggin in broward county jail bro u was Awesome den.”
“Damn Cee You Was My Little Bra, Saw You Grow Up, My Fam Is Yo Fam… I Thankful n Thank You For Giving Me My Flowers & How You Proud Of Me At The Barbershop When You Were Here Since I Damn Show Gave You Yours Fam,” Young Money Juicy said on Twitter as another way to share his sorrow.
“That’s crazy because I had given you a shout out two months ago and in addition, I wanted to do some music with you,” said rapper J0HN THOO. I regret not having even had the opportunity to get to know you. I wish I had. My sympathies are with his family.
