There’s nothing quite like watching romance anime to make one’s heart race, whether it’s a romantic movie date or a candle-lit supper. The promise of several adorable rom-coms and relationship dramas in the upcoming year will have viewers swooning! This year’s romance anime genre offers a variety of dynamics for viewers to enjoy, including arranged marriages, office romances, best friends who become lovers, and even a bit enemies-to-lovers. Here are several romance anime that we hope to see in 2023, without further ado:
The protagonist of Masamune-kun Vengeance R, Masamune Makabe, was close friends with Aki Adagaki when they were younger. Masamune is rejected by Aki, who mocks him by calling him “Pig’s Foot.” Years later, when they cross paths once more, Masamune has changed his identity and shed all of his baby weight. He intends to have Aki fall in love with him before rejecting her the same way she had. Aki hitting Masamune during their kiss in the school’s Snow White production marked the conclusion of the first season. From there, Masamune-kun Vengeance R is anticipated to pick up. Also, a trip to Paris and some prospective new characters seemed to be hinted at in the previous season. Many fans are interested to see whether Masamune-kun will be successful in his pursuit of vengeance or if he and Aki fall in love along the way as season two is scheduled to debut in April 2023.
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, a television series based on Saekisan’s light novel series, has already begun broadcasting from January 2023. The anime centres on Amane, a high school student who lives alone and learns that Mahiru, the most attractive kid at his school, lives next door. They hardly ever talk until he gives her his umbrella on a rainy day. Mahiru offers to assist Amane with housework as payment for the favour. The two’s bond grows over time, and sparks start to fly. According to the anime’s teaser, it boasts a heartwarming romance that will make viewers’ hearts flutter as they watch the two fall in love.
An office romance unlike any other is promised by The Ice Man and His Cool Female Colleague. The Cold Man and His Cool Female Colleague, based on the manga series by Miyuki Tonogaya, has been turned into an anime series by Zero-G, the same production company that created such films as My Roommate is a Cat and Dive! a company where some of the workers possess a superpower or, more specifically, are yokai ancestors. Himuro, who can freeze everything when he becomes overly upset, and Fuyutsuki, who has a cool demeanour, are the main characters of the story. Himuro is truly nice and lovely, in contrast to the typical melancholy leading man. He meets his colleague Fuyutsuki, and it appears to be love at first sight because he actually freezes when he sees her. The anime seems to be quite adorable based on the trailer. It would be intriguing to observe how Himuro uses his paranormal prowess while juggling his feelings for his coworker. In January, this anime already began showing.
