We explore whether Season 2 of the Paramount Plus series School Spirits will air and whether it has been renewed or cancelled.
On March 9, 2023, the Paramount+ series School Spirits debuted. In the show, Maddie, a high school student who recently passed away and is trapped in the hereafter, is the main character. She is unsure about a number of things, including how she passed away.
She solves the riddle of who killed her and how with the aid of her new pals from the afterlife and Simon, her best friend from the physical world.
Going into covering this series, I didn’t have high hopes. I didn’t know much about Peyton List and wasn’t sure if it would lean more towards a show for teenagers or a mix of both.
But List won over my heart with this series, and I can’t wait to see more of her work. I give the writers of this series a lot of credit for keeping you guessing despite List’s absence.

Every time we got closer to a murderer, it seemed like. They had a different plan in mind.
Will there be a Season 2 of School Spirits – renewed or canceled status
School Spirits has not yet received a second season order as of this writing.
If I were a gambler, I would wager heavily that Paramount+ will pick up this for a second season. I believe this for various reasons.
First off, the series has an 80% and 93% approval rating from reviewers and viewers, respectively, on Rotten Tomatoes (as of April 7, 2023). Both teams scored impressively, which is great.

Second, Peyton List is a celebrity with over 20.8 million Instagram followers. With her stellar performance on the programme, Paramount would be stupid to not try to extend her contract for an additional season.
Release time and location for Episode 5 of Season 1 of School Spirits
The show is based on a novel, so I assume the creators have an idea of the direction they would like to take for a second book and/or season.
Where might season 2 of School Spirits go without giving any spoilers away? I have a few thoughts for how they might proceed if they start the episode with another student perhaps passing away at the school. With that, you could have Maddie investigate it to assist them find out the truth. This would also be a justification for Simon to appear on the show again, helping Maddie with the “real” people side of solving the murder.
Maddie adjusting to her new existence in the dead and her battle with it all could be another direction the series takes. She said something about realising that her life will never be the same again.
Also, perhaps we can learn more about this “afterlife” and comprehend that. In any case, I’d like to see School Spirits return for a second season, and I hope we hear something soon.
School Spirits Season 2 Release Date
Regarding the renewal of School Spirits, Paramount+ has not yet made a choice. Nonetheless, we don’t think the second season’s production will be difficult, so the show might return as early as 2024.
