Selena Quintanilla’s Autopsy Photos revealed the truth behind the murder.
Selena Quintanilla-Pérez holds a legacy that has had an incredible impact on music and fashion both in the US and abroad. Known affectionately as “The Queen of Tejano Music,” Selena’s enduring image is one of strength, courage, and beauty.
She was able to combine elements of traditional Tex-Mex culture with modern sounds of rock, pop and dance, appealing to many different audiences. Her concert tours were celebrated from the Rio Grande Valley to London, UK.
Additionally, she started her own clothing line designed by her older sister Suzette which included perfumes with crystal-encrusted product containers – a precursor to modern luxury brands in the fashion industry. Sadly, fans across the world experienced great shock and sorrow following Selena’s death in 1995.
Despite this tragedy, her unique talent lives on through her numerous musical recordings, her television appearances, and in memorabilia found around the world – further cementing Selena Quintanilla-Pérez as an icon forever remembered for her extraordinary accomplishments during her lifetime.
Abraham Quintanilla Jr.’s discovery of embezzlement by Yolanda set off a tragic chain of events. Fans had been voicing concerns over not receiving merchandise they had paid for, leading Abraham to realize that Yolanda had stolen upwards of $60,000 from the fan clubs and boutiques.
As she was subsequently let go, Yolanda still held possession of the necessary financial paperwork for the stores. In order to retrieve those records, Selena arranged a meeting at the Days Inn, however tragedy struck as Yolanda shot her in the shoulder at approximately 11:48 a.m. (CST).
Despite her wound, Selena managed to escape to the lobby before being rushed to the hospital, where she would ultimately be pronounced dead.
In a stunning and tragic development, Dr. Louis Elkins today testified that Selena had already been declared brain dead before her doctors could establish an erratic heartbeat in the emergency room. Although the medical team’s efforts to save her life were valiant and heroic, there ultimately was nothing they could do to revive her.
Dr. Elkins imparted his sincere sympathy to the family of Selena, stating that her loss was a tragedy for us all. Clearly, this beloved Grammy-winning artist left an indelible mark on our culture, and she will be remembered for many generations to come.
Dr. James Elkins strode quickly through Memorial Medical Center, knowing that every second counted in his race against death.
Selena Quintanilla-Perez had been wheeled off to the ER just moments before and though his colleagues had already started their work to revive her, he knew it was a difficult situation.
When he got to her side, he could see an emergency room doctor already had taken up position in the chest cavity, manually massaging the woman’s heart in a failing attempt to stimulate the organ which had already stopped beating.
She had no pulse, but despite this Elkins’ team of professionals jumped into action – a breathing tube was forced down her throat as doctors worked frenetically to save her life and a clamp was placed on the gushing artery in her collarbone which had been pierced by .38 caliber hollow point bullet.
Despite all this effort however, their battle ultimately proved futile; Selena would be unable to survive the gunshot wound and would die later that day in hospital.
The surgeon involved in Selena’s unsuccessful attempt to save her life, reported that she had only erratic heartbeats after she arrived at the operating table.
Despite heroic measures taken to sustain her, including blood transfusions and other interventions, there was no chance of success due to extensive damage caused by the bullet piercing her right shoulder, lung, veins, and arteries.
Subsequent medical examinations revealed that even if lifesaving resuscitation had been successful, she would have been “brain dead”. Tragically this talented singer lost her life before anyone knew what more milestones she could have accomplished.
The trial of Yolanda Saldivar, accused of murdering Tejano music star Selena Quintanilla-Perez, has continued with Elkins’ testimony regarding her blood transfusions.
Reports from Corpus Christi indicated that Abraham Quintanilla Jr., father of the late artist, was concerned about the transfusions due to his religious beliefs as a Jehovah’s Witness.
Cardona’s testimony today further detailed the investigation at the scene with photographic analysis and evidence collection.
The testimonies have provided crucial insight into the events surrounding this significant case.
