These characters manage their own perverted moral code while attempting to outwit those hunting them, and nevertheless manage to make us root for them in spite of their horrifying crimes. These characters have captivated the public’s imagination for decades, whether it is due to the attraction of their brilliance and cunning or the excitement of witnessing them elude arrest.
