Since Wednesday, December 27, police in Charleston have been looking for Sophie Benton, a 14-year-old girl from South Carolina.
She was last seen leaving her West Ashley house, and there are rumors that she was seen in Carolina Bay’s west colonial district.
Even with a diligent search by detectives, Sophie’s location is still unclear. The community has organized an operation headed by law enforcement to find her and guarantee her safety after receiving hints that she may be in Charleston.
