On September 1, 2023, filming for the second season of The CW’s “Sullivan’s Crossing” is scheduled to begin in Nova Scotia. According to the official logline, the drama series, which is based on Robyn Carr’s self-titled novel series, follows a “neurosurgeon named Maggie Sullivan, who reconnects with her small-town past after a scandal causes her to leave her professional and personal life in the city.”
The first season’s filming was also done in Nova Scotia, where the current shoot will take place. Shubie Park, a 40-acre urban park in Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, served as the primary filming location for the first season. Other notable films shot in the province include “Titanic,” “The Sinner,” “The Lighthouse,” “Locke & Key,” “Trailer Park Boys,” “Haven,” and “Moonshine.”
Showrunner and co-writer for the show is Roma Roth. She is well-known for executive producing “Virgin River,” a Netflix series based on another one of Robyn Carr’s novel series. The TV films “The Black Widow Killer,” “Christmas Cupcakes,” “Deadly Secrets by the Lake,” and “The Stepchild” are among her other productions. Tanchay Redvers (‘Jane’), John Callaghan (‘Frankie Drake Mysteries’), and Kerri MacDonald (‘Republic of Doyle’) all contributed to the writing of the programme. Along with Chad Michael Murray (‘Agent Carter’ and ‘One Tree Hill’) as Cal Jones and Scott Patterson (‘Gilmore Girls’ and ‘Saw V’) as Harry “Sully” Sullivan, Morgan Kohan (‘When Hope Calls’) plays Maggie Sullivan in the series. It is anticipated that the cast members will return for the following season.
The show will probably continue to follow the plot of Robyn Carr’s novels even though the specifics of the new season’s plot remain a secret. The What We Find, Any Day Now, The Family Gathering, The Best of Us, and The Country Guesthouse novels are the five books in the series. Therefore, the show’s makers still have a tonne of source material to cover. The show had its network debut in March 2023 and was created by Reel World Management in collaboration with CTV. It was later picked up by The CW for American airing. On October 4, 2023, the network is now scheduled to air the premiere of the first season. The series is marketed internationally by Fremantle.
Speaking about the launch and renewal of the show, Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment at The CW said, “We can’t wait to bring ‘Sullivan’s Crossing’ to our viewers this fall, and we are so confident that audiences are going to fall in love with it that we have committed early to a second season. We are excited to collaborate with this great ensemble and superb creative team as partners for season two to produce yet another emotionally compelling season. Knowing that there will be much, much more of this show in the future, audiences can commit their hearts to it.
