The first look at Donald Glover’s “Swarm” on Amazon Prime Video has made friends even more excited about the upcoming horror-thriller show. Even though a lot has been kept secret, the series will have its world premiere at the upcoming SXSW festival and be available on Amazon’s Prime Video on March 17, 2023.
Here’s The First Teaser Of “Swarm”
The first look at Donald Glover’s upcoming horror-thriller series “Swarm” has fans wondering what it will look like. The first creepy teaser for the series, which was written with Janine Nabers and put out by Amazon Prime Video, was just released. If you’ve already seen the teaser, you may know that it introduces the character Dre, played by Dominique Fishaback, whose obsession with a pop star takes a dark turn.
One of the people who write for the show is Malia Obama, who is the daughter of Michelle Obama and Barack Obama. Throughout the teaser, the question “Who is your favorite artist?” is asked over and over, and a buzzing sound is heard. “Murder. Sex. Music” is what the SXSW logline for Swarm says. The show is about a person who looks like Beyoncé.
What’s The Cast And Plot?
Dominique Fishback plays Dre, Chloe Bailey plays his sister Marissa, and Damson Idris is Dre’s boyfriend. Glover recently said that the show is like “post-truth Piano Teacher mixed with The King of Comedy,” which means that not much is known about it. Fishback, who plays the main character, said, “My team told me that Donald was making a show and wanted me to be in it.
The actor went on, “I thought, ‘Oh, shoot! I am known to Donald Glover. “Wow, that’s pretty neat.” If you didn’t know, Fishback was asked to play Marissa at first, but she asked the show’s creators to let her play the lead role instead. In the interview, Fishback said, “I don’t want to be able to catch up to myself as an actor.” “[Dre] wasn’t very clear about who she was and why she felt the way she did. I had to really go with my gut.”
Co-creator Janine Nabers said that TV antiheroes like Don Draper (Mad Men) and Tony Soprano inspired them to make Dre, an antihero “through the lens of a Black, modern-day woman.” Stephen Glover, Steven Prinz, Fam Udeorji, and Michael Schaefer are the show’s executive producers. Fishback is one of the show’s producers. The scary movie will be shown for the first time on Prime Video on March 17.
In an interview, the show’s writer, Malia Obama, said, “I heard from my team that Donald was making a show and wanted me to be in it. I was like, ‘Oh, shoot! I am known to Donald Glover. “Wow, that’s pretty neat.” From the first teaser, we know one thing for sure! “Swarm” looks like it will be a good, scary, and bloody series, which is good for how it was written. On March 17, let’s find out together.
