Tom Brady has put his boots away. After 23 seasons in the NFL, the famous quarterback has announced his retirement. On Wednesday, the seven-time Super Bowl champion shared a video on social media to make the announcement.
Many people believe that Brady is the best quarterback to ever play the position. In February 2022, he announced his retirement from the sport; however, he eventually came back to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for one more season.
Tom Brady Announces Retirement
Brady announced his ‘for good’ retirement from the NFL in a video posted to Twitter. He said, “I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I got up this morning, I figured I’d simply push record and let you guys know first. It won’t be drawn out. One extremely emotional retirement essay is allotted, and I used mine up last year.
For their assistance throughout his lengthy career, the football player praised his family, friends, and teammates. “I want to sincerely appreciate each and every one of you for your support. My loved ones, close friends, teammates, and rivals… I could go on and on. A lot too many. Thank you for letting me live the life of my dreams, you guys. He declared, “I wouldn’t change a thing.
On February 1, at six in the morning ET, Brady first notified the Buccaneers of his choice. The team then tweeted “#ThankYouTom” after posting a message of gratitude for the player. NFL also praised Brady in a tweet that read: “The greatest ever.”
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Releases Statement
Following the announcement, the Buccaneers issued the following statement: “Tom’s Legacy is unparalleled in the history of our game. The impact he made on so many people over the years is what I value most, despite the fact that all of his Super Bowl victories and statistical records speak for themselves.
“His influence on this organization enabled us to reach the summit. He will be missed as our quarterback without a doubt, but I will also miss him as a friend and a leader. He has given our company so much over the last three years, and we owe him a debt of gratitude. His influence will be felt for years to come, and we won’t ever forget the victories or the honors.

Brady was Named Super Bowl MVP Five Times
The New England Patriots selected Tom Brady in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, and he spent 20 seasons with them. Six Lombardi Trophies were won with his team’s help. He is the first player to have more than five Super Bowl victories. Brady has also received the league MVP award each of the last five years.
He signed with the Buccaneers after leaving the Patriots as a free agency in 2020, and they went on to win the Super Bowl the following year. He now owns the most throwing yards (89,214) and touchdown passes at the end of his NFL career.
