Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be a reboot of the Transformers franchise and not a’sequel’ in disguise. In an interview with Black Girl Nerds, the movie’s star Anthony Ramos (In the Heights) and director Steven Caple Jr. made this revelation. Rise of the Beasts’ status as a reboot had not been established before.
Caple Jr. did admit that his Transformers movie will be a reboot to the franchise when asked what viewers can anticipate from the tone and themes of the picture. The franchise won’t have a live-action movie until Rise of the Beasts, following 2018’s Bumblebee, which largely distinguished itself from the earlier Michael Bay movies. Naturally, Bay will continue to produce Rise of the Beasts. It is anticipated that the new movie, which is set in 1994, will loosely follow Bumblebee, which took place in the 1980s.
The fact that Rise of the Beasts is a reboot fits in perfectly with the rest of Caple Jr.’s remarks, especially those regarding Optimus Prime. While the majority of fans—particularly those of Michael Bay’s films—view the Autobot leader Optimus as a heroic saviour of Earth, Caple Jr. claimed that the character is actually wary of people and only wants to get home. Given that the beginning of Bumblebee, which took place on Cybertron, this fact is very intriguing.
It’s undoubtedly reassuring to hear that Rise of the Beasts is a reboot because fans had been worried about that possibility. Even though the first of Michael Bay’s movies had a strong (financially speaking) start in 2007, the franchise had run its course ten years later when Paramount and Hasbro lost almost $100 million on Transformers: The Last Knight. Let’s hope Rise of the Beasts proves to be the next step in the right direction since Bumblebee did better commercially and critically.
Ramos and Dominique Fishback are the stars of Rise of the Beasts. The movie will feature the voices of many actors, including Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal, the leader of the Maximals. Additionally, the movie has voice roles for Peter Dinklage, Pete Davidson, and Michelle Yeoh. Cullen, who portrayed Optimus Prime in each of Bay’s movies (as well as Bumblebee), returns in the same capacity.
The Beast Wars storyline, a favourite among fans, is adapted in the film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The movie will make the Autobots and Maximals realise they must cooperate in order to defeat the Terrorcons, a dangerous Transformers faction that has not yet been brought to the big screen. The movie is also said to be a global adventure, which will undoubtedly make for some fantastic action set pieces.
