Venom 3 Starts Pre-Production, Tom Hardy Confirmed The Exciting News

  • DCS

Tom Hardy, who is up for an Academy Award, has said that Venom 3, the sequel to his upcoming comic book movie, is now in pre-production. The actor shared the news on social media by looking back at one of his other adventures as Eddie Brock, aka Venom, and showing how he and Venom love to fight over Brock’s body.

It’s great to see Hardy’s commitment to writhing and squirming in real time, without any of the magic of movies. I’m sure the actor will do the same thing in Venom 3. Hardy played Eddie Brock and Venom for the first time in the 2018 movie Venom. In this movie, the Marvel villain/antihero is introduced as a guerrilla journalist who is investigating human trials and ends up being merged with a lethal alien.

After making $856 million around the world and getting mixed reviews, Venom got a sequel in 2021. Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which was directed by Andy Serkis, brings Brock and his alien friend back together. Brock is a journalist who is trying to get his career back on track by interviewing serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), who becomes the host of Carnage, an alien symbiote that is similar to Venom.

Like its predecessor, critics had a lot of different things to say about Venom: Let There Be Carnage. But, like its predecessor, Venom: Let There Be Carnage was loved by audiences. It made $502 million worldwide and was the seventh highest-grossing movie of the year.

So, Venom 3 is happening, and Tom Hardy is back to play the main role. Kelly Marcel, who wrote Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, is making her directorial debut with this movie.

Venom 3 Will Continue to Build the Venom-Verse

Details about the plot of Venom 3 are being kept secret for the time being. Still, Hardy has said that he wants to keep building the “Venom-Verse,” Sony’s separate shared universe that focuses on Spider-villains Man’s and includes Morbius, Kraven the Hunter, and other characters like Venom. Hardy has no problem with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and the MCU both wanting him.

“”Once it’s set up, we have to keep going with our Venom-verse,” the actor said. “But at the same time, we will always be looking for ways to play with that with all our brothers and sisters out there, do you know what I mean? Whether or not we can connect the dots depends on the constellations, which isn’t my job, but we’d be foolish not to think about it when we’re working on the material.”

Eddie Brock was last seen in an after-credits scene at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. In that scene, the journalist and Venom were pulled into the MCU, where they spent the whole time in a bar, before being pulled back to their own universe. A little bit of the symbiote was left behind, of course…

Tom Hardy hasn’t been seen in a movie in a while, but he now has several projects in the works, including Venom 3. Gareth Evans, who made The Raid, will give the actor the lead role of an action hero in Havoc. He will also work with Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, and Michael Shannon in the drama The Bikeriders.
