Most pet owners understand how unsettling it is to leave their animals and go to work. Our beloved pet pals frequently become stranded in an empty apartment for days on end during an emergency when there is no one to care for them. Entrepreneur Arsy Khodabandelou came up with a fantastic start-up idea to take care of pets in an emergency by keeping this in mind.
Arsy founded his business, Woof, a cutting-edge smartphone app made to save your pet if something unexpected occurs to you. In episode 16 of season 14 of “Shark Tank,” Arsy Khodabandelou pitched the Sharks his original concept. This is all the information you need to know about this ground-breaking product.
Woof: Who Are They and What Do They Do?
Marty, Hank, and Odin are the three dogs that Arsy Khodabandelou has lived with since he first started keeping pets. As a pet owner, he experiences some anxiety for the welfare of his pets. Arsy worried since he couldn’t return home to his pets on time after an accident a few years ago. To assist other pet owners like himself, he came up with the business idea. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Maryland, the businessman went on to the University of Southampton, where he earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Health Services/Allied Health/Health Sciences.
Arsy joined DrFirst as an RCopia Monitor while obtaining his bachelor’s degree and eventually advanced to the role of Partner Integration Consultant. Thereafter, he worked as a Senior Client Service Coordinator with Inovalon till 2017. He also held prominent roles at NBCUniversal Media as Senior Manager, Change Delivery, Peacock and Clicknotices as Regional Director of Sales. Ultimately, Arsy started his business, Woof, in May 2022, and has been successful since since. Now, he is also working as the Sales Team Lead at Verse.
Arsy, who spent the majority of his professional career at a 9 to 5 job, was aware that in the event of an emergency, his pets would require more than just a security camera. He had the notion to make something that would benefit animals and provide pet owners like himself peace of mind. His vision initially began as a sensation of dread about the repercussions his dogs would experience if he didn’t return home in a timely manner. Hence, in May 2022, the concept for Woof was formed to assist pet owners in ensuring the safety of their animals.
Where is Woof Now?
The organisation has done exceptionally well in the market since its founding in May 2022. Pet owners can download the smartphone application Woof from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. A geo timer and the user’s current location, namely their home address, must be set to the desired time. Those who work 9 to 5 jobs, for example, can set it to 8 to 7, and the programme will start if the user doesn’t arrive home by that time. First, the user receives a notification; if the user doesn’t reply, a notification is sent to the pre-set emergency contacts.
The business starts a pet checkup if no one is available or can be reached. The “pet passport” function of the app allows you to simply send caretakers or pet sitters all the pertinent information about your pet. Users can subscribe to several subscription plans for $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year to download the programme.
Also, the app offers a 7-day free trial so that you may familiarise yourself with it, learn how the features operate, and give it a try before making a purchase. The business is always there for you and your animal friend and offers 24/7 help for pet owners. Arsy’s extraordinary ascent to the top has been absolutely astounding, and we are sure that the business will continue to prosper in the years to come.
