On the discovery+ documentary Too Large, Meghan was first introduced to TLC audiences. Later, she and a number of her pals were given their own show, 1000-lb Best Friends, which documents their life and weight-loss endeavors.
Prior to the 2022 series debut of 1000-lb Best Friends, Meghan underwent weight loss surgery. She had several contentious discussions with her doctor, bariatric surgeon Charles Procter, as she tried to keep the weight off. Additionally, it appears that Meghan is still having difficulties with her weight loss efforts based on a preview for the upcoming second season of the show that was released via Twitter.
In the video, she informs Dr. Procter, “I didn’t like our last appointment. I was told I was a failure… I’m trying to be less, but it’s difficult.
Dr. Procter, however, won’t accept Meghan’s explanations.
He informs her, “You haven’t had a single follow-up session with our aftercare program.”
She responds, appearing upset, “This is exactly why I didn’t want to come.
Meghan is in ‘full meltdown mode,’ her friend and fellow ‘1000-lb Best Friends’ cast member Tina Arnold says
Megan is then questioned by Dr. Procter if she has been following the post-surgery instructions he gave her. She acknowledges that she hasn’t always listened to his advice. She leaves the appointment after that and enters the restroom to sob.
Tina Arnold, a friend of Meghan’s, went with her to the appointment and can see that her buddy is struggling.
Producers are informed by Tina that Meghan is not doing well. She is having a complete meltdown.
Dr. Procter wants his patient to take ownership of her health
Dr. Procter, who has appeared on TLC’s 1000-lb Sisters and Family By the Ton, claims he is merely attempting to motivate his patient to make wise decisions. When working with Amy and Tammy Slaton from 1000-lb Sisters, he adopted a similar “tough love” strategy.
In an interview section, he says, “One of my main aims with Meghan has been trying to convince her to take ownership of her own wellness.”
But it’s clear that Meghan is frustrated with the circumstances.
She exclaims, “F*ck this place,” as she and Tina leave for the parking garage.
