3:10 to Yuma Plot Synopsis

Dan Evans’ farm suffers after a severe drought, which forces him to accrue significant debt to Glen Hollander, a local creditor. As a result, when the appropriate moment arrives, Hollander dispatches his men to burn down Dan’s barn and let loose his animals as a warning. The next morning as Dan and his boys, adolescent William and small Mark, go out to gather the cattle, they watch the infamous Ben Wade and his gang robbing an approaching coach that contained the paychecks for the railway workers in Bisbee.

Ben observes Dan and his sons but thinks they are not a threat and walks away unharmed. After that, Charlie Prince, Ben’s right-hand man, lures the Marshal away from Bisbee so that Ben and his gang can sneak in and relax. The group soon departs, but Ben stays behind after being drawn to a barman. As a result, when the Marshal enters the city again, he succeeds in apprehending Ben. Soon later, Butterfield, an agent of the railroad, joins a gang to put Ben on a train going to the Yuma Prison.

Dan offers his assistance in exchange for $200 in cash and is hired for the position. Along with him are Byron McElroy, the person in charge of the coach’s heist, Doc Potter, the neighbourhood vet sent in to keep an eye on Byron’s well-being, and Tucker, Hollander’s employee. The posse hides out at Dan’s property after sending out a decoy waggon to divert Ben’s gang. Dan and the others depart towards Contention after dusk. They go a long way, and Ben kills Tucker and Byron but is stopped from fleeing by William, who covertly follows his father from the property.

Doc is shot and dies as the group passes through a dangerous Alpache pass and a Chinese labour railway camp. Ben is their prisoner, but Dan, William, and Butterfield make it to Contention unharmed. By that time, though, Charlie has discovered their scam and has tracked them to Contention with Ben’s crew. Charlie finds out that Ben is imprisoned in a hotel room with local law enforcement officers Butterfield hired as extra security. He then offers a $200 reward to anyone who can kill Ben’s captors.

Contention Marshal Boles and his men give up the assignment after seeing a large number of bystanders point their weapons at the hotel room window, but they are slain as soon as they leave the building. Dan is encouraged to give up by Butterfield, who also does so. Dan, who is determined to see things through, disagrees and requests that Butterfield deliver William back to his house. Dan chooses to go against Ben’s gang to get Ben on the 3:10 train, on the condition of an erased debt for his family and the ranch and an extra $1000.

3:10 to Yuma Ending: Why Does Ben Help Dan?

Many skilled gunslingers are in Ben’s group, and thanks to Charlie’s scheme, the majority of the town is also out to get Dan. Even worse, the distance to the railway station is half a mile. Dan escapes the hotel with some success, but he is shot and must seek refuge in another structure. By that time, Ben has run out of patience and tries to choke Dan since he no longer wants to play along.

Ben kills two men with ease while still a prisoner, according to his whims. As a result, it is obvious that he is more than capable of defeating Dan. Similar to Charlie, Ben has always knew he can rely on him and that Charlie’s crew will look for him. Ben now has just Dan to fear, making him almost free. However, he makes the conscious decision to voluntarily assist Dan by sprinting through the city and boarding the train to Yuma Prison.

The entire movie shows Dan and Ben grudgingly growing closer. Both men have a strong sense of self despite being complete opposites with divergent moral and ethical convictions. Dan is a guy of character and honesty, and Ben appreciates him for that. Dan, in contrast to Ben’s past kidnappers, has an unwavering drive. Dan chooses to take on impossible odds instead of resigning like Butterfield and the other lawmen when faced with them.

In a similar vein, Dan refuses Ben’s $1000 offer to let him leave early in order to uphold his ideals. As a result, despite the fact that Dan and Ben are not close, Ben respects Dan’s honour and real righteousness. The last straw, though, is when Ben tries to choke Dan to death, but all Dan manages to do is expose the real reason why he lost his limb.

Everyone feels Dan must have lost his leg in combat because he served in the Civil War. But in actuality, Dan loses a limb on his first day of combat after one of his teammates unintentionally shoots him in the leg. Ben is told by Dan that a guy can only gain his son’s disapproval with a war story like his own. Because of this, he must complete this task in order to win his son’s admiration by performing a noble and heroic deed.

Ben is forced to see Dan’s vulnerable side as a father who is merely seeking his son’s approval by the revelation. It also strengthens his reputation as a morally upright man who chooses to tell his son the truth rather than make excuses for him. Ben makes the decision to aid Dan for all of the aforementioned reasons and actively flees with Dan by his side in the direction of the station.

Does Dan Die?

Ben resolves to assist Dan, but two men up against the whole town is hardly a fair fight. Additionally, in their panic, the villagers shoot at Ben without realising he is the one Charlie is trying to save. Charlie responds by opening fire on the villagers, which causes the situation to escalate out of control. Nevertheless, the two make it to the station, with Dan suffering only a minor gunshot wound.

The 3:10 train, however, ultimately arrives late. Dan and Ben are forced to hide until the train arrives at the station, giving Charlie enough time to catch up to them. When the train arrives, Charlie shoots at them from a distance to keep them from boarding it. William arrives just in time after fleeing Butterfield to assist his father. He robs Charlie of his view point by rounding up some nearby cattle.

Ben boarded the train in order to complete Dan’s assignment by taking advantage of the confusion. Dan has always had one goal in mind: to provide for his family. Dan really needs the ranch and will stop at nothing to keep it. Dan has performed his part of the contract, and Butterfield will make sure the Hollanders stop bothering his family as well as that Dan’s property and water are not taken by the railway building.

Nevertheless, Charlie Prince, Ben’s right-hand man, shoots Dan in the back as he celebrates his victory. Ben feels heartbroken by the loss as he witnesses the life leave Dan’s eyes. Ben normally maintains his composure and composure, but Dan’s death causes a seething wrath to explode.

Ben has spent the majority of his life surrounded by violent and brutal guys and has never met a man like Dan. Dan lived by his morals and died by them too, unlike the falsely devout Byron, the greedy Butterfield, or the brutish Charlie who kills someone in the back. Ben therefore murders Charlie in retaliation for Dan’s passing.

Does Ben Go To The Yuma Prison?

Ben doesn’t really owe it to anyone to board the train and turn himself in to the Yuma Prison when Dan passes away. But he respects Dan so much that he wants to complete Dan’s work and pay tribute to him. Ben boards the 3:10 train to Yuma and heads to the Yuma Prison despite his desire to protect himself.310 to yuma,310 to yuma cast,310 to yuma 1957,310 to yuma streaming, ben foster 310 to yuma,310 to yuma review, charlie prince 310 to yuma,310 to yuma imdb, where was 310 to yuma filmed, russell crowe 310 to yuma,310 to yuma trailer, vinessa shaw 310 to yuma,310 to yuma rotten tomatoes, ben wade 310 to yuma, dan evans 310 to yuma,310 to yuma ending explained,310 to yuma parents guide, cast of 310 to yuma 2007,is 310 to yuma a true story, where to watch 310 to yuma

Additionally, Ben’s deposit on the train is a key component of Dan’s agreement with Butterfield. Ben also wants to make sure that Alice, Dan’s wife, and their children get the advantages that Dan wants for them. Since Dan previously informed Ben about Mark’s tuberculosis, Ben is aware that Mark needs the ranch’s dry climate to survive. As a result, a notoriously immoral man decides to follow Dan’s example and surrender.

Ben’s surrender is undoubtedly influenced by the idea that he won’t be detained for very long, though. Ben has attempted to escape from Yuma Prison twice already. Dan finally whistles for his horse from inside the cabin after the train departs from Contention, and the horse bolts after the train. The same suggests that Dan probably broke out of Yuma Prison soon after, but made sure Dan’s demise wasn’t in vain either.
