The sixth season of Starz’s historical drama “Outlander” concludes with the murder of Malva Christie, but Claire Fraser is then detained on suspicion of the same crime. She is transported to Wilmington by Richard Brown and his men in the expectation that she will be executed following the trial. Tom Christie admits in the opening episode of the seventh season that he killed Malva to prevent Claire from dying. Claire, now a free woman, and her husband James “Jamie” MacKenzie Fraser head back to Fraser’s Ridge.
Allan Christie, who has lost both his father and half-sister due to various reasons, is the subject of a conversation between Claire and Allan in the second episode of the season. He talks to Claire about the same thing and ends up disclosing life-threatening details regarding his relationship with the late Malva. Is Allan now deceased? Let’s investigate! Spoilers follow.
Is Allan Christie Dead?
Allan Christie is indeed deceased. After arriving back at Fraser’s Ridge, Claire runs across Allan close to the grave of Malva and her child. To comfort Allan, Claire tells him about her and Tom. Allan then admits to having a sexual relationship with his half-sister, adding to his considerable suffering. He confesses to Claire that he, not Jamie, was the biological father of Malva’s child. Allan makes the decision to leave the colony with Malva after she becomes pregnant. In the hopes that the Scotsman will offer her money to settle the same, he coerces his half-sister into blaming Jamie for the situation. Allan wants to leave his father and live with Malva, thus he is looking at Jamie’s money.
Malva quickly becomes overwhelmed by remorse, though. She departs for Jamie and Claire’s home to tell them the truth about her pregnancy in an effort to save the Scotsman’s reputation. Malva is killed by Allan out of dread for the repercussions of such a revelation. Allan attempts to shoot himself after admitting to killing his half-sister, but Claire is able to take the gun away from him before he can do so. However, Claire is unable to permanently save his life. Allan is shot with an arrow by young Ian, who has been listening to his confession.
Ian has been bearing the shame of perhaps being the father of Malva’s child. Ian becomes enraged and murders Allan after learning that the girl was tormented by her own half-brother and that Allan was the one who ought to have felt the shame he did. Does that imply that Alexander Vlahos has made his final appearance in the series? Let’s investigate.
Did Alexander Vlahos Leave Outlander?
The actor’s resignation from “Outlander” has not yet been formally announced by Alexander Vlahos or Starz. But since Allan’s passing brings the actor’s character’s arc to a close, it is obvious that Vlahos most likely quit the historical drama series. The plot involving the Christies is resolved in the series with Allan’s admissions regarding Malva’s murderer and the father of her child. Therefore, it appears that Vlahos’ character has no purpose in the remaining episodes of the drama. Taking into account the same, we think Vlahos most likely did depart “Outlander.”
The ‘Outlander’ novels, which serve as the series’ source materials, claim that Tom Christie is still alive after his confession and encounters Claire in Wilmington a few years after they part ways. If the encounter occurs in the series as well, we can anticipate flashback scenes focusing on the Christies, including Allan played by Vlahos, similar to Jessica Reynolds’ appearance as Malva in flashback scenes in the second episode of season 7. We might not need to anticipate Vlahos to appear in the period play, with the exception of the same possibilities. Nevertheless, we can count on the actor to give strong performances in upcoming films like “Irish Wish,” “Firecracker,” “Heart of Salt,” etc., which also features Lindsay Lohan.
