In the fourth episode of AMC’s post-apocalyptic series “The Walking Dead: Dead City,” Tommaso and Amaia assist Maggie Greene and Negan as they search for and rescue Hershel inside the den of the Croat. Maggie, Tommaso, and Amaia discover a way to enter the area and look for the Hilltop leader’s son while Negan diverts the Croat. They carry on their search in the fifth episode but run into several potentially fatal situations. The lives of Tommaso and Amaia are significantly impacted, leaving viewers to worry if they pass away. Here is all the information you need to know about the same, though! Spoilers follow.
Are Tommaso and Amaia Dead?
Tommaso and Amaia are indeed deceased. Maggie, Tommaso, and Amaia come face to face with a massive herd of walkers after entering the Croat’s den. Maggie notices Ginny as they struggle with the same and saves her from a pack of encircling walkers. Tommaso directs the gang to the building’s subterranean tunnels when they see they cannot kill all of the walkers around them. They continue their exploration even though they are full with dead carcasses that are producing methane. To combat the methane in the atmosphere, Tommaso creates two oxygen tanks in the fifth episode of the show.
Maggie questions Tommaso about why he is treating them as though he found the tanks in the tunnel when she notices that he has had the tanks in his backpack ever since they entered the building. She also inquires as to how he is aware of all of the building’s entrances and exits, prompting Tommaso to finally answer. He finally acknowledges making a deal with the Croat to take his people there in exchange for a boat to the mainland, where he could live happily with Amaia in a secure neighbourhood. The group pauses in response to such a shocking revelation. They are suddenly ambushed by a gang of walkers that were concealed among the corpses in the tunnel in the meantime.
Tommaso, Amaia, Maggie, Ginny, and the walkers are under attack. Maggie attempts to kill the walkers attacking Amaia after saving Ginny from the dead. She is unable to save her since Amaia is slain. When Maggie does the same, Tommaso is severely injured and loses a lot of blood in his neck. He passes away shortly after asking about Amaia, but Maggie uses a knife to sever his brain to prevent him from becoming a walker. The audience must be wondering if Jonathan Higginbotham and Karina Ortiz had made their final appearances in the programme after they pass away. Let’s find out, then.
Did Jonathan Higginbotham and Karina Ortiz Leave The Walking Dead: Dead City?
The resignation of Jonathan Higginbotham and Karina Ortiz from “The Walking Dead: Dead City” has not yet been properly acknowledged by AMC. The deaths of Tommaso and Amaia, however, make it clear that Higginbotham and Ortiz have likely played their final roles in the post-apocalyptic drama. With their deaths, Tommaso and Amaia’s story arcs come to an end, eliminating any chance for the characters to continue as major players in the show. Since they are no longer personally connected to Maggie to appear in her prospective dreams or visions, we may no longer need to anticipate seeing her two allies in the episode.
