Both positive and negative news are available.
The fourth season of Atypical debuted on Netflix last week! The popular dramedy, which was created by Robia Rashid and made its streaming premiere in August 2017, centres on Sam (Keir Gilchrist), a young adult on the autistic spectrum who believes it’s time to find a girlfriend. The series has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, with an 87 percent Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The unpleasant news is now to follow. Atypical’s 10 Episodes of Season 4 have already been enjoyed by fans, who are now concerned about the show’s future. Is this Atypical’s final season? Will Atypical have a fifth season? Here is all the information you require.
WHEN DOES ATYPICAL SEASON 4 ARRIVE ON NETFLIX?
Atypical’s ten Season 4 episodes are now available to stream right now on Netflix.
IS THIS THE LAST SEASON OF ATYPICAL?
Yep. Atypical was picked up by Netflix for a fourth and final season back in February of 2020.
WILL THERE BE A SEASON 5 OF ATYPICAL ON NETFLIX?
Nope. Unfortunately, there won’t be a fifth season of the show. On the plus side, because series creator Robia Rashid foresaw that Season 4 would be the last episode, the show was able to plan its last season—including a powerful ending scene—appropriately.
Sam, who has always been enamoured with penguins, is seen travelling to Antarctica with his father in the series’ last scene. The conclusion was first proposed as the Season 2 finale, the showrunner Robia Rashid just disclosed to TVLine.
Rashid told TVLine, “We stored it, so we knew all along it was going to be the ending. We hadn’t intended for Doug (Michael Rapaport) to accompany him, but given where Doug and Sam first met, it felt like a really satisfying full circle moment.
