Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 : Beatrix’s Death Explained

Beatrix, one of the most adored characters in Fate: The Winx Saga, saw a significant transformation in the second volume of her story. But her passing puts a devastating end to everything.

There are many heroes, legends, monsters, magical creatures, and villains in the land of the Winx fairies. The Netflix series, however, introduces a number of adversarial individuals to the audience in season 2 without giving them a binary approach.

The villains in this season always have a tinge of grey to them. Whether it’s the Blood Witch Sebastian or the devilishly cunning and mysterious Rosalind. Despite their circumstances and motivations, even peripheral characters like Grey (convenient name) struggle internally with what they’re doing.

Beatrix began as an unmistakable enemy with just a lack of mustache-twirling, making her possibly the best “grey” character in the second season and the entire series thus far. Following Rosalind’s directives and directions without objecting, she assisted in bringing Rosalind out of stasis and continued to assist her after that.

Beatrix wasn’t exactly docile, loyal, subservient, or beneath Rosalind, though. No, she is too arrogant and self-assured to fit into those categories. But eventually it becomes clear why she behaves the way she does.

Her survival is the only thing it has ever been about. Beatrix was always willing to go to any lengths to ensure the survival of both her and her guardian Andreas. That began to alter when Beatrix began to feel a connection to Stella.

Beatrix turned around to help people in need despite the fact that her own survival was still her primary priority. If for no other reason, she did so out of loyalty to her friend Stella. Her premature and ordinary death at Sebastian’s hands, however, put an end to this fantastic character turnabout.

But is she really gone, or is this seemingly finished chapter just the beginning?

Beatrix’s death and the seeming finality of it

Beatrix is dead, according to all signs and theories. In her valiant attempts to halt the transmission of the “Flame Dragon” powers, she deals Sebastian’s ambitions a bothersome blow, if not a fatal or tide-shifting one. She also provokes his anger by doing so, as he uses his magic to launch her across the hallway.

Beatrix is unable to defend herself or prepare for the attack, so she takes the full force of the collision with the wall and lands on the ground with a jarring thud. Beatrix’s head is gushing blood, which makes it obvious that she is actually dead and unable to be revived.

Beatrix gives Bloom, Stella, and the others a powerful push for vengeance by her redeeming and honourable efforts, which they ultimately release upon Sebastian and kill him.

After Beatrix’s passing, many people find it to be a gloomy occasion. But Stella, who spent the most time with her in her dying days, is probably the one who suffers the most from her departure. Additionally, Beatrix’s character was saved and expanded beyond the largely one-dimensional enemy in the first season because to their growing friendship.

A death made more tragic by a hopeful discovery

After giving Stella a lot of background information about Sebastian’s plans, Beatrix then explained to her why she had first conspired with him. It was because Sebastian had promised to inform her about her background and the reason she was at Aster Dell, just like he had told Bloom.

As a condition of this agreement, Beatrix would have to assist Sebastian by disclosing vital information regarding Alfea’s strategies and whereabouts. In accordance with the agreement, Sebastian told Beatrix that she has two sisters, the names of whom he was unaware, as well as other information about her ancestry at Aster Dell.

Despite being under Andreas’ care, she has always been alone. The blossoming friendship she had with Stella up to that point, however, was insufficient to prevent Beatrix from feeling really alone after his passing. She therefore made a pact and realised that she has family she can call her own.

Sadly, she passes away before she could ever be reunited with her two sisters.

A fate so fickle and closure so inconclusive

Fate: The Winx Saga, like many other fictional works, ignores the typical signs of mortality that can be seen in everyday life. Characters in them pass away and come back to life at the author’s discretion; in modern times, even the viewers/readers might have an impact on such choices.

In light of this, Beatrix’s passing should not be regarded as a definite plot point. especially when the events leading up to her death and final moments are so dramatic and mysterious.

This is where the trademark uncertainty principle, which many modern fictional works adhere to, comes into play. In modern fantasy television, no one is ever actually dead. Likely also the situation with Beatrix’s passing. The major event increasing the likelihood of this happening is the appearance of Shadow, the evil being from the Realm of Darkness.

The ominous presence appears in the Otherworld just behind Stella in the cemetery as she pays her respects to Beatrix’s tomb and departs. This turn of events creates several fresh possibilities that could materialise in the upcoming season.

Since Shadow has the ability to raise the dead, one effect of his presence could be Beatrix’s resurrection from the grave, which was also the goal of Sebastian’s entire mission (to bring his people of Aster Dell back from the dead).

It is extremely likely that Shadow would raise some powerful dead beings from the Otherworld and use them to unleash a world-ending havoc on the realm. It’s possible that Beatrix is one of these newly-alive individuals. It is difficult to speculate at this time as to what repercussions she would experience due to the likelihood of a resurrection.
