Bloodshed, gore, and terror have long piqued the interest of moviegoers. Willingly exposing themselves to such graphic violence is a disturbing experience that draws them back to these films time and time again. According to studies, viewers are drawn to the thrill and suspense provided by violent content rather than the violent acts itself. It is sometimes the empathy generated towards the victim of abuse. Alternatively, the horrific sequences may serve as a release valve for the viewers’ built rage. Another explanation is that inconceivable violence provides viewers with insight into human nature and existence.
For more than a century, gore films have been crafting their blood-soaked history. Despite being a very unpleasant niche genre, slasher films make a lot of money at the box office. Whatever the cause, gore is here to stay. And if you want to see a slasher movie or a bloodbath, Netflix is the place to go. The streaming service includes a huge range of films with gore and extreme violence.
